We are currently sitting on the beach. Ryan had driven us to a beautiful lake. It is so nice, quite and peaceful. I sigh as I lean back against his chest. He gently wraps his arms around me and kiss my temple. I love these little moments with him. He truly is an amazing man.
"Penny for you thoughts?" He asked breaking me frok my thoughts. "I'm just happy. Sitting here enjoying this view with you, engaged to an amazing man, and pregnant. What more could I want?" "How about an engagment ring?" I let out a sigh. I would love an engagment ring. But I know he can't afford it. "Baby, I'm not worried about an engagment ring. I know we don't have the money. As long as I get married to you, I'm happy. You don't need to buy me a ring." He pulls me closer to him. "What if I told you I already have a ring?" "Babe, why would you spend money we don't have?" I'm now starting to get irratated. We don't have money to throw at rings. "I didn't pay for it baby. Nor did I steal it." He said laughing. I have to chuckle, I didn't think he did steal it. "Then how did you get it?"
He moves as he pulls something out of his pocket. He hold it infront of us. I feel the tears as I look at it. "Why did she give you this?" I recognize this ring. She wore it when her and my sperm donor were married. I thought she gave it back to him. "She told me this ring was from her first marriage. Baby, this was her one request. Can I please tell you what she said when she gave it to me?" I just nod, I can't speak as I stare at the ring. I will admit it is a beautiful ring. "She told me that your father gave it to her. I tried not to accept it. But when she told me the story behind this ring, I knew it belonged on your hand." I sniff as I wipe the tears. "What did she say?" "This ring was your great great grandmother's. Her husband had bought it for her. It was passed down five generations. You will be the sixth if you accept it. Baby, this would mean the world to you mom and me." He whispered in my ear as he slips off the class ring. He gently slips the ring mom gave him in its place. I lean back to kiss him. It was sweet and passionate. "I love you. Thank you so much babe." I whispered against his lips. "I love you to."
When we get back I see Andrew working with his horse Rango. He is a beautiful black quarter horse. "Hey bro, where is Momma?" He stops and looks at me. "She is in the barn with Cobalt. She is still having a hard time with Arion passing." I look down as I remember my first horse. He was an amazing palamino. He taught me alot. I also remeber how mom said that Arion was Papa's horse. "Thank you."
Arion was in his thirtys when he passed. Cobalt is in his mid twentys. When pass it is going to kill Momma. She raised him from the bottle. She had retired him and now rides Cobalt and Amirahs colt Thunder. He is a gorgous blue roan.
I quickly make my way to Cobalt's stall I notice it's empty. He comes in during the night and is in the field during the day. I fine them in the arena. She is currently doing liberty with him. I just stand there and watch them in awe. Mom had taught me how to do liberty. She used Cobalt to teach me then help me teach Prince. It never fails to amaze me how beautiful and majestic they look.
