"Do I know you?"

He scoffed. "Just come here."

"You heard the fine, sweet, sexy man." Alivia whispered. "Go on."

I rolled my eyes, making my way over to him, when Valerie gripped my arm.

"Give him my number too, while you're at it."

I glared at her. "I'll hurt you."

She winked at me. "Love you too."

Once again, making my way to Seth, I snatched a mechanical pencil off the desk of someone who'd went to the bathroom and shoved it in my pocket.

Can never to have too many mechanical pencils.

Standing in front of him, I noticed his frown and frowned back. "What?"

"You just stole that pencil off of that girl's desk."

How'd he know it belonged to a girl? I shrugged. "Yeah, and?"

His frown deepened. "Give it back."

"Huh? Why?"

"Because it's hers?" he said as it was obvious.

"Well, it's in my pocket, so it's mine now." Why's he making such a big deal over a pencil?

His arm snaked out and snatched the pencil from my pocket.

"Hey!"

He held the pencil in front of my face, tauntingly. "And now it's mine."

"Dickhead," I muttered, deciding not to just let the pencil go, before raising my voice. "So did you come here just to harass me, or did you actually need something?"

"Yeah, I think—" he started and I immediately zoned out, studying him, thinking about what the girls said.

His long, chocolate brown hair had been clipped into an undercut two months earlier and it complimented his face well. His eyes were brown, but they weren't just that, they were a special, pretty brown; I just couldn't place it. Holy crap, this fucker is actually kinda hot.

Studying his body, I noticed that he had a lean frame but I knew he was hiding an eight pack under there. And wasn't one of those ones that he'd have to flex to see; it was prominently there. You'd probably be able to see it really well if he was soaked with water.

Tracing my way back up to his face, I stopped at his moving lips. They were plump, expressive lips colored strawberry red. They look so soft. I wonder how it would feel to-

A heavy hand placed itself on my shoulder. "Hello? You listening?"

Looking up, startled, I realized what I was thinking and recoiled from him.
"What? No. Wasn't listening to a word you said."

He sighed. "Should've known. You have my bag."

Seth and I had the same backpacks, and it'd been an ongoing argument on who should get a new one and it'd resulted in hectic running to find each other to switch backpacks and get to class on time.

"Why didn't you just start with that?" I tsked, annoyed at myself.

I turned back to my table where my friends watched me eagerly as I made my way back to them.

"Well?" Tiera rose an eyebrow.

"Well what?"

She rolled her eyes. "What'd he say? Did he confess his dying love for me?"

"He told me to give you his number because he'd love to tap that ass."

The girls eyes widened. "Really?!"

"No," I scoffed. "I grabbed his backpack again."

Tiera huffed, crossing her arms angrily. "You got me all excited for a moment."

I left them to give Seth his backpack, only to find him talking with the chick I stole the pencil from.

I was gone for a good two seconds and he's flirting with someone? That was quick.

I waited for him to finish but they just kept talking and talking, and after thirty seconds, I decided to intervene.

I tapped his shoulder. "Hello? Yes, it's me, the gurl who has your backpack? Are you going to give me mine or am I just gonna stay here all day waiting?"

He flashed me a quick smile. "Hold on, let me finish giving her her pencil back."

I gave him a small smile, not amused. "Oh don't worry, I saw you hand back the pencil a good minute ago. Here's your backpack," I shoved it into his hands and took mine off of his shoulder, "now goodbye."

The girl glared at me and I stared back, eyebrow raised, until she looked away.

Seth huffed angrily, pulling me to the side. "What was that for?"

"What?" I glanced at him, annoyed, before staring at the girl who had yet to stop shooting angry glares my way.

He placed a finger on my jaw, gently turning my head to face him. "My face is right here."

My left eye twitched. "I'm well aware of that. Do something like that again and I'll bite your finger off. Now why are you still here? Don't you have a class?"

"Yeah. But why'd you do that?"

"Do what?"

"I was about to get her number! Why'd you just cockblock me?"

The woman was too stunned to speak. "You have to be shitting me right now."

"What?"

"It's almost like you, Caleb, and Carter do that on the regular for me?"

"But that's—"

"Different?" I rose an eyebrow. "Choose your next words fucking carefully."

He opened and closed his mouth, pursing his lips.

I shook my head. "Nevermind, just go back to class," I said, moving to walk away.

"Wait," he gripped my arm, "Avy, we—"

I shook his arm off, not bothering to look back at him. "No, it's fine." I headed back to my group, shaking off the grumpy mood Seth had put me in.

They were staring, the three of them.

"What was that about?" Alivia asked.

I shook my head. "Nothing, Seth's just an idiot."

"Uh-huh." Valerie nodded, looking like she hadn't believed a word of what I'd said.

I made a face at her. "Whatever. Let's just get back to work."

They nodded, with amused looks shooting between them.
