EVELYN

We arrive at the diner in no time. Brad opens the door for me and I chuckle, walking inside. I see how much he's trying to impress me and make me forgive him when in reality, I already did. When I saw him again after those 2 years, I realized I can't stay away from this man, no matter what happens.

We spot the others sitting at our usual table and we walk over. I take a seat between Maggie and Lucy, while Brad sits across from me next to Ashley and Tris. I bite my lip as I make eye contact with Ashley. She's clearly confused of why we came here together.

"Hey, can I get you anything?" a waitress stops next to our table and smiles at all of us. Her eyes linger on Brad a bit too much and I just roll my eyes, remembering all the times we went to a restaurant and the waitresses always eyed him and practically flirt with him in front of my eyes, when we were clearly on a date.

Everyone orders their usual. The waitress smiles at Brad one more time before leaving and preparing our orders. The drinks we ordered come first as we engage in different conversations.

"So, what happened after I left?" Maggie smirks at me.

"I think you can figure that out," I show her my hickey. She gasps, making Ashley turn to us. She glares at me as I try to hide my hickey, but it's useless now. She saw it. "Okay, now tell us your news," I say a little louder and everyone stops talking, turning to my ex roommate. Her cheeks flush, which I've never seen before. Maggie is usually this really confident girl who you can't embarrass or make her blush this easily.

"Oh, uhm..." she stutters, looking at her hand which are playing with a napkin on the table. "Well, George and I... we are... engaged," she says.

Everyone's eyes widen and our jaws drop. George and Maggie met a while ago, when we were still roommates. She immediately fell in love with him and they started dating after only a few weeks of knowing each other. I always had this feeling that they are gonna end up together, but never thought George would get on one knee this soon.

"Oh my God, I'm so happy for you!" I'm the first one to snap out of the shock and I pull the girl into a tight hug. After I pull away, the others snap out of their shocked state too and congratulate our friend.

"Wow, never thought you'd be the one to get engaged," Connor jokes, making us all laugh.

"Thanks," Maggie says sarcastically, but still laughs.

"Don't get me wrong," Con puts his hand up in the air defensively. "I thought Brad and Eve would get married before any of us could. Like, they were so in love," he says and I look down at my hands under the table.

Ever since I realized I fell in love with Brad, I've dreamed of marrying him one day. But that dream was wrecked after that night in the diner, when I found out he was deceiving me.

I take a deep breath, looking up slowly and making eye contact with Brad. His eyes are sparkling as he smiles at me. I return him a shy smile and turn my head away quickly.

"Here are your orders," the same waitress from before places everyone's plate in front of us and we begin to eat, continuing to talk amongst each other. Lucy and I are talking about my new book, while the boys about the band. Ashley is listening to Brad while he speaks, constantly looking at his lips and annoying me, while Maggie and Kirstie talk about her engagement and her wedding plans.

"I can always help you organize," Kirstie proposes with a smile.

"Thanks, Kirstie," Maggie smiles at her thankfully.

"It was nice hanging out with all of you again," Lucy says as her boyfriend wraps his arm around her shoulders.

"I agree," I nod with a smile.

"Well, see you," James says. Kirstie waves at us and they walk to James' car, sitting in and driving away.

I turn to Brad, who's standing next to me. My eyes go down to his hand that is almost touching mine and I bite my lip, trying my best not to intertwine our fingers and show PDA in front of everybody. We're not even back together yet. Right?

"Shall we go?" he finally asks. My eyes dart up to his and I nod.

"Bye guys," I say, smiling at the others before following Brad to his car.

Once again, I sit in the passenger seat and buckle myself up. Brad sits in too, starting up the vehicle. I look back one last time before he drives away, waving at Lucy and Con. They wave back and I turn around, looking ahead. I watch the practically empty and lit up road as Brad drives. I lean my head against the window, sighing. Brad notices and looks at me for a split second before looking back at the road.

"You okay?" he asks.

"Yeah, I just..." I look down at my hands, "I miss how everything was back then," I admit.

"Me too. But it can be the same again," he smiles.

"No, it can't," I whisper, shaking my head.

"Why not?" Brad furrows his eyebrows, placing his right hand on my thigh.

"There's something I need to tell you..." I sit up straight, my heart pounding like crazy in my chest.

"What is it?" he asks.

"I-" I begin, but get caught off by my phone ringing. I roll my eyes, taking it out of my pocket and answering it. "Hey Tim."

"Hi, uh... are you gonna come to pick up Faith or she's staying over? I'm just asking, it's no problem," my brother says on the other line.

"I have plans for tonight," I look over at Brad and bite my lip for the hundredth time today.

"Oh, okay. Have fun," I can practically hear the smirk in Timothy's voice, but I'm not even annoyed.

"Thanks," I say before hanging up.

"What are your plans for tonight?" Brad smirks, stopping in front of my apartment complex and smirking at me.

"You," I wink teasingly.

I climb out of the car and wait for Brad to do the same. He runs up to me once he locks the car and I take his hand, leading him into the elevator. I press the button to my floor and watch as the doors close. When they're closed and we're alone, I walk over to Brad and corner him. He presses up against the wall of the elevator and looks down at me. His eyes turn dark as they meet mine. I lick my lips before standing on my toes and pressing my lips to Brad's. He kisses back immediately, deepening the kiss by adding tongue. Our tongues move in perfect rhythm as my hands go under his shirt and I start to run it up and down his stomach. I slide my hands down to his bulge, squeezing it and earning a groan from him. He bites my lip, pulling me even closer, so now our bodies are touching completely and I can feel his bulge without putting my hands on it.

The elevator dings, signaling that we arrived to my floor. I pull away from the kiss, walking ahead and opening my front door. Brad follows me inside and waits until I lock the door before pushing me against it. He kisses me hungrily, grabbing my butt and signaling for me to jump. I do so, wrapping my legs around his waist. Brad starts walking slowly towards my bedroom. He kicks the door closed and carefully lays me down on the bed, hovering over me.
