Delilah Carter stays in the shadows at school. She's one of those girls that get "have a great summer!" written in her yearbook each year. She's a loner and she prefers it that way. Not that she has a choice. However, her general wish to be alone ha...
Peter Parker boarded the crowded subway that would ultimately take him to Midtown High School of Science and Technology. It had been a month since he fought alongside his idol, Tony Stark, in Germany and he has yet to receive any information regarding a new mission. Still, the boy had hope. In his mind he was technically an avenger regardless of what Mr. Stark had said. He had fought Captain America for god's sake! That had to qualify him for something other than just being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman he was before, right? The fifteen year old was so caught up in his own thoughts and texting a very annoyed Happy Hogan that he almost missed his stop. Luckily he didn't, he couldn't be late. Not today. After all, a new student was starting at his school today and due to his academic prowess, Peter was assigned to show them the ropes.
In reality, it was probably a bad idea to have the awkward boy show the new person around. However, the school didn't really have many options. The only other person available was Flash Thompson, considering both Liz Allen and Betty Brant were sick with the stomach flu. Flash wasn't- how do we put this nicely- the most considerate person at Midtown High, meaning that the young Parker was the best option, regardless of his awkward disposition.
Peter stepped off the subway and walked to the entrance of his school. Had he not been spam texting Happy, he would have noticed the young girl on the ground who had dropped her books due to the hole in her tattered book bag. But alas, he did not and just walked past her. If he had noticed the girl, he most likely would have helped her. That was just the kind of person Peter Parker was. He probably would have also noticed that the girl on the ground was, in fact, the new girl. Instead, Peter pocketed his new iPhone 7- courtesy of Tony Stark- and entered the large school building. He walked to his boring grey walker and took out his equally boring textbooks.
Peter was a very bright student and excelled in all of his classes. In fact, the sophomore was ahead of the seniors in his school on an academic standpoint. He could probably excel on a physical standpoint as well; however, he couldn't before he got his powers so he shouldn't now. He would just have to get by with the only B on his report card being in gym class. Even though Peter knew the majority of what was being taught to him, he was still grateful for the scholarship he received that landed him at the prestigious STEM school. Many of the students attending Midtown High School of Science and Technology were, obviously, smart. However, many of those students had parents who could afford to send them to that school. Peter had neither of those things: parents or money. The boy lived with his Aunt May; and even when his Uncle Ben was alive, there was no way they could pay for Peter to go to the school. That saying, Peter was lucky that the school gave out five scholarships each year. Four out of five of his friends were scholarship students too; Ned Leeds and Michelle Jones.
