"Char? Charlotte?" I looked for my only living family member. "Char, are you here?" Charlotte was my younger by three years sister who I thought had died.
"Is that you?" Her head came from the corner. "Oh... my God."
"I didn't think I'd ever see you again," I shook my head and smiled in disbelief.
"I love you." Char took a step forward, but something pulled her back. The walker bit her in her neck as soon as I shot it with my bow.
"Charlotte!" I screeched and caught her before she fell. "No, no, no. Please," I wailed, "please don't. Don't leave me again." Her hazel eyes sparkled with tears. Her left hand stroked my left cheek. I closed my eyes and leaned into her palm slightly.
"I love you," she barely audibly whispered. Her hand almost dropped, but I grabbed it with all I had left in me and shook it against my face.
"No. No, Charlotte. You have to wake up. Wake up," I pleaded. "Wake up! Charlotte, wake up! Wake up, please! WAKE UP!"
