~Y/N POV~
Today is the day I'm taking Colson to meet my parents. We have been dating for some months. My parents don't like Colson because he is white and I'm black. I don't care what they think because I love Colson.
"Colson are you almost ready!" I yelled into the other room.
"Yea. Are you almost ready!"
"Yea just doing my hair."
I finished curling my hair and I checked myself out in the mirror. I had on this knee lengthen black dress. It had long sleeves. I put on my black heels. I grabbed my purse and grabbed my phone and stuff. I walked downstairs and seen Colson waiting on me. He was looking at his phone. He heard me coming down the stairs and looked up. His mouth dropped. I got down the stairs and stood in front of him.
"What do I look bad?"
"No you look great."
"Thank you."
He smiled and I smiled.
"Ready to go?"
"Yea. Let's go."
He opened the door and I walked out first. He shut the door and locked it. We walked to the car and he opened the door for me.
"Thank you."
He smiled and shut the door. He walked around to his side and got in the car. He started it up and pulled out the driveway. I directed him to my parents house. He pulled into the driveway and shut the car off. He got out and walked over to my side and opened my door for me. I grabbed my purse and grabbed his hand. He closed the door and we walked to the front door hand in hand. We reached the front door and I stopped Colson.
"Are you ready to go in there?"
"Yea. What's wrong?
"Well my parents aren't really respecting of me dating a white guy since I'm black."
"Baby don't worry about. We love each other and that's all that matters."
I smiled and I opened the front door.
"Mom! Dad! We are here!"
"We are in the kitchen baby!" I set my purse down by the front door and walked into the kitchen.
"Mom, Dad. This is my boyfriend Colson."
"How are you Colson?"
"I'm good. How about you guys?"
"We are good."
"That's good. Well let's sit down and have dinner. I made my famous meatloaf."
"Aww mom you didn't have to make that for us."
"I wanted to baby."
We smiled and they set the food on the table. I made my plate and passed the food to Colson and he made his plate and passed the food to my parents. We all were laughing and talking. We finished dinner and my mom brung our dessert. We ate dessert and went to the living room to catch up. I grabbed my purse and sat down. I pulled out my phone. We were talking and laughing.
"Baby can I ask you a question?"
"Yea. What's up mom?"
"Why are you with a white boy?"
"Mom!"
"Baby I'm just asking. You should be with a black boy not a white boy."
"Mom stop!"
"Young last watch your tone with me."
"No mom because you criticize me about the same thing every time I come over here!"
"Well I want what's best for you and dating a white boy isn't what's best for you."
"MOM IM DONE. WE ARE LEAVING!"
"Young lady scream at me."
"Colson let's go."
He got up and we walked to the door. My parents followed us.
"Y/N honey sit down."
"No mom because every time you see me. You always judge me because I'm dating Colson and because he's white but you know what I don't care. I'm gonna continue to date Colson and I don't care what you guys think."
"Y/N if you continue to date this white man we don't want to see you again."
"Fine mom. I guess that's what it is then."
I went to walk out the door but stopped and turned around.
"And just so you know mom and dad. Love has no color." With that being said me and Colson walked out the house and to the car. We got in and drive back home.
"I can't believe my parents."
"Y/N it's ok. They don't understand and they won't but we love each other and that's what's matters. You said it best love has no color."
"You're right. Love has no color." We smiled and kissed.
