Chapter 14

Two days until Christmas

Raph woke up, randomly, yet again. But he hadn't had any nightmares. Hmm.

He got out of bed, feeling like something was missing. He quietly checked on each of his brothers. He checked on Master Splinter and April. He purposely left Cleo last, because he knew that something was wrong with her, but didn't want to admit it to himself.

When he got to her room, he paused outside of her door. He could hear soft breathing coming from the room, so what could be wrong? But as he listened more closely, he knew that it wasn't Cleo in the room.

Raph burst through the door. Korai jumped, banging her head on the bottom of the bed.

"Ow!"

"Korai?! What are you doing here? Where's Cleo?"

"Raph! Um... I was just-"

Mikey jumped into the room, fuming. He made a fist and showed her it. She gulped, not wanting a fight.

"I want the truth! Now! WHERE IS MY SWEET ANGEL?!"

"First off, calm down. Sheesh. Cleo and April were planning to show me off on Christmas to show that I was a-okay."

"I don't care why you're here! All I care about is where my Cleo is! Where. Is. She?"

"I-I don't know."

"WHERE IS CLEO?!"

"I don't know!"

As Mikey's fist was about to make contact with her face, he felt himself being pulled back. By whom, he couldn't say, because he was blind with anger.

"LET ME GO!"

"Mikey! Bro, calm down!" It kind of sounded like Raph, but it could easily be Korai's dad disguising his voice. Shredder!

After Mikey struggled against his enemy for a while, he felt fingers at his neck, pushing a pressure point, making him fall.

"Mikey! Settle down!" Mikey slumped to the ground, paralyzed.

Raph looked at Korai, his apology for his brother in his eyes. "You don't know anything about where Cleo is?"

Korai shook her head sadly. "I'm afraid I don't. She was here last night when I went to bed." She gestured to her pallet on the floor.

April came into the room, wondering what the commotion was about.

"W-what's going on?" She rubbed her eyes. Her eyes widened as she realized that Korai being there wasn't a secret anymore. "Korai! You were supposed to be hidden until Christmas!"

"I couldn't help it! These crazy turtles busted in really randomly!" Said Korai, kicking Mikey's hand off of her ankle. Even Raph's move on his pressure point couldn't stop his anger for long. "Mikey's blaming me for Cleo not being here!"

"Cleo?" April looked at the bed, fully registering that one of her best friends was not in the room. "Where is she?"

"KORAI DID SOMETHING TO HER!" Mikey was ignored.

"Maybe she went to go get a drink?" April, Korai, and Raph left the room to head to the living room, with Raph pulling Mikey out of the room.

Master Splinter, Donnie, and Leo were in the kitchen. Master Splinter was meditating, Leo was pacing, and Donnie was just staring at a piece of paper.

"Cleo's gone." Leo informed the group. He wasn't even surprised that Korai was here. (However, his heart was all a flutter)

"Yeah, we know."
