Chapter 22

Previously..

"Jesse I missed you and I want to help you"

Avril said as she leaned in closer while shaking with fear.

I'm sorry for this, Evan...

She thought to herself. Jesse leaned in too, but instead of kissing her, he punched her in the stomach with his fist.

Avril whimpered in pain but stood her ground.

In the distance, they heard sirens.

"You set me up, bitch!" He yelled and slapped her.

In that moment Evan ran behind him and punched his neck. He fell down and as he tried to catch his breath, the police came.

"You'll pay for this!" He yelled as the police pushed him in the car.

When they were out of sight, Avril threw herself in Evan's arms and cried quietly.

"Shh it's over now" Evan whispered to her as he ran his fingers trough her hair.

"Can we please go home now?"

"Of course, come on" he said as he put his arm around her shoulder and they began walking while he held her close.

Chapter 22
2010

Years have passed since the incident. Evan and Avril were still together. They just celebrated their 5 year anniversary.

One morning as they ate breakfast Evan said

"Hey, I was thinking about going to New York for a few days."

"Why?" She asked with her mouth full of cereal which made him giggle.

"Have better plans?"

"No not really"

"Well?"

"Okay sure, but just so you know, I know something's up"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, first of, you aren't the travelling type. Second, why New York all of a sudden?"

"Is it bad I want to go somewhere with you?"

"No, of course not"

"So we're going?"

"I guess yeah"

They smiled at each other and kissed.

A week later, the packing began.

"Evan have you seen my black dress?"

"Which one? You have so many"

"Okay, never mind I'll find it later. What about my Metallica T-Shirt?"

"You have about five of those!"
