Dan's P.O.V.

After eating some breakfast, (Phil was nice enough to make some eggs for the both of us) we had flopped down on the couch and bantered back and forth a bit.

I was glad Phil decided to stand up for me that one day. He's actually such a nice guy! His personality almost completely differs from his appearance. Of course, it wasn't completely opposite, Phil was very stand-offish sometimes and would not hesitate to hurt somebody if they did something he didn't like.

Phil was, overall, a very sweet and caring person. His tattoos and piercings used to intimidate me a lot, but I've come to quite like them. I'd imagine that every single tattoo he had held some sort of significance to something.

Phil was also quite attractive. Anyone could see that. He could get with any girl, or guy, he wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already dated half the girls in our school.

Over time, my crush on Phil has slowly made itself more obvious to me. I would blush whenever he would compliment me or touch me. I doubt someone as cool and hot as Phil would ever get with an ugly nobody like me.

The small conversation we were having came to a halt. A small awkward silence quickly ensued as we ran out of things to say.

"Why don't you eat much, Dan?"

Oh, dear. Phil asked the dreaded question I hoped he wouldn't after I had my meltdown in the bathroom twenty minutes ago.

"I don't know. It's not like I think I'm fat or anything; it's more that I feel like I shouldn't waste my time on eating food, I was never too big on it. It's a hassle." I sigh.

"That makes sense. But, I'm going to try and be a good friend, and help you! I want you to be healthy."

"Thank you. You don't have too, though. I could handle it on my own. I have been for a while." I chuckle awkwardly.

"You haven't been doing a good job, Dan. No offense to you, but you haven't been managing it very well, you barely eat three meals a day."

"You have a point. Just promise me that you won't make it too much of a big deal?"

"I won't. I'll just check up with you and make sure you eat."

I nod in reply, not bothering to say much else in hopes the conversation will switch to a different topic.

"When do you have to head back to your house?" Phil asks an attempt to keep the conversation alive.

"I could go back whatever time is convenient for you. My mom is probably asleep or working, so whenever you want me to leave I can. She doesn't care too much and I told her I was here, so she knows I'm fine."

"Cool, cool. Do you want to take a walk? Get some fresh air?" He asks.

"Sure," I reply
