Phil's P.O.V.

"Are you okay?" I ask Phil, carefully approaching him like a mouse would approach a mighty lion.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Are you okay? You're the one who got shoved against a wall." He states, sighing deeply.

"I'm used to it. I'm fine." I sit down on the soft grass, leaning my back against the wall of the school.

"You shouldn't be used to it. Jackson is a huge dick." Phil sits down beside me.

I shrug my shoulders in reply. "I guess."

The school bell rings, signaling class started. Neither of us showed signs of standing up.

"I hate school. It's the worst." I state.

"Hell yeah, it is. Not worth my time. Want to skip?"

"What does that imply?"

"I don't know. Wherever the day takes us. We can hang out at my house."

"I would like that." I smile over at Phil.

"Let's go then!" Phil exclaims.

He hops up, holding his hand out. I grab it and he drags me to his car.

I giggle, the stupidest smile on my face.

Phil grabs his backpack from behind the school, and I grab mine which had fallen off my shoulders in that whole ordeal.

Phil lets go of my hand, ushering me into his car.

We make our way to his house, chatting up a casual conversation about random things.

Phil pulls into his driveway about twelve minutes later. I open up the car door and step out, following Phil to his front door.

He retrieves the key from under the mat and unlocks the door. I follow Phil into his house.

I immediately spot the most important thing in the room; Phil's dog!

"I forgot you had a dog! He's so cute!" I'm practically dying of cuteness over the little Corgi.

The dog trots on over to us, his tongue hanging out.

"What did you say his name was?" I ask Phil.

"Corky." He replies with a chuckle.

I sit down on the floor, crisscrossing my legs so I was on Corky's level.

"Your so cute Corky. Aww, what a good boy."

I scratch Corky behind his ear as I praise him. He waddles into my lap and lays down. I stroke his back and lean down to hug him.

"I think he somehow already loves you more than me." Phil says as he takes a seat on the couch.

I smile and look over at Phil.

"No, that's not possible. How could I be more lovable than you?"

I move my legs out from under Corky and stand up, much to his dismay. I take a seat on the couch by Phil.

Corky trots along behind me. He hops up on the couch, resting his head on my leg.

"Awww! He's so cute." I gush over Phil's dog for what feels like the millionth time already.

"He's the best dog I could ever have." He replies.

I pet Corky as Phil turns on the TV.

"What do you want to watch?" He asks.

"I don't care, whatever you want."

Phil nods and goes to Netflix to try and find something. He decided on watching 'Cloverfield'. A movie I haven't heard of before, but is apparently one of Phil's favorites.

Corky obviously got bored of the distracted petting I was giving him and hopped off the couch to go lie down in his bed.

"Do you want a blanket?" Phil asks me and I nod in reply.

He stands up to go grab one, coming back a few moments later. He sits down and throws it over us.

"Thanks." I say.

The movie starts and Phil puts his arm around me, pulling me closer. I blush at his sudden action. I snuggle up into his side, getting comfortable.

We stay like that for the rest of the movie. Whenever I would jump at some of the scary parts, Phil would tighten his grip around me and I would lay my head in the crook of his neck.

The movie ends and the credits start rolling.

"What do you want to do now?" Phil asks me.

"I don't wanna move." I complain.

I cuddle up to Phil even more and wrap my arm around him. I lay my head on his chest.

Phil chuckles, a blush dusting his cheeks.

"We have a whole day to spend doing other fun things. We can go to the park." He suggests.

"Can we?" I say, pushing myself up and smiling at Phil.

"Sure. I can drive there."

"Let's go then!"

I throw the blanket off my legs and stand up. Phil follows, chuckling at my sudden excitement and leading me out the front door to his car.

We both get in and Phil drives off toward the park. We banter a bit back and forth on our way there and finally arrive after about five minutes.

We step out of the car, joining each other on the pathway. The cool breeze rushes past us as we walk side by side along the path. The open field is slowly engrossed by trees as we enter the forest.

"It's a nice day out today. I like it when it's a little bit chilly. It's calming." I smile to myself.

"Mhm. I like this forest. I used to play in these woods when I was a little kid almost every day." Phil replies, looking around.

"My mom wouldn't let me come out here alone when I was younger; she thought it was too dangerous."

Phil nods in understanding.

We continue our conversation onto another topic, weaving our way through the peaceful forest.

A bush rustles and a small bunny dashes across the path in front of us.

"Did you see that, Phil? It was so cute!" I gasp and smile giddily.

Phil chuckles. "It was, wasn't it?"

I turn around and walk backward, facing Phil.

"Isn't it wonderful how many creatures live in the forest? It would be amazing to be like a fox or a deer and be able to prance around. I mean, they do have pre-"

Phil's smile drops and his eyes widen. "Dan, your gonna trip!"

I don't have time to react because I walk backwards over a tree root sticking out of the ground, tripping over it.

Phil rushes toward me, catching me before I made contact with the forest floor. My eyes wide and panicked, I look at the raven-haired boy who caught me.

Phil slowly pulls me into a hug, my face resting against his chest.

"You scared me- I thought you were going to fall and break something." He says.

"I'm sorry for worrying you- I didn't mean to almost fall. I'm kind of a klutz and a bother sometimes." I mumble into Phil's chest.

"You're not a bother to me, or to anyone in this world. Your not shattered glass. I would fix your broken bones any day." Phil hugs me tighter.

"Now, let's go back to my house before anything worse happens." He lets go of me and grabs my hand gently, leading me out of the forest.
