Dan's P.O.V.
I see Phil rush toward me.
"Oh my god! Are you alright? I didn't know you lived near here. What should I do?" He fires out a million questions per minute.
I don't understand why he was so suddenly standing up for me and being nice.
I shake my head, but immediately regret it as my head starts pounding louder and harder. I whimper and lay my head in my hand.
Tears continue falling down my face faster than I can wipe them. I sniff and rub my nose.
"Do you need help standing up?" Phil asks in a soft voice.
I shamefully nod my head. Phil bends down and wraps one arm under my shoulder and hoists me up. He pulls me into a hug, rubbing my back softly. I start to cry into his shirt, grabbing small fistfuls of the fabric as sobs wracked my body.
After what felt like hours- but was actually just a couple minutes- of sobbing, I pulled myself away from Phil.
"I-I'm sorry. Th-that was really sc-scary." I stutter out in an attempt to explain myself.
"You're fine, don't apologize."
I stand up straight and Phil lets go of me, but my vision goes blurry and spots of black appear in it.
I trip over myself and start to fall before Phil quickly reaches out to grab me again.
"Woah there. Don't want to fall again. I can drive you home if you want." Phil asks, keeping a tight arm wrapped around me to ensure I won't fall.
"That would be nice, thank you." I say in a quiet voice. I was surprised he heard me.
He helps me walk to his car and opens the passenger door for me, letting me get in before shutting the door.
Phil's car smelled of smoke and cigarettes but also mixed with a slight scent of old pine and what was probably some cheap flower air-freshener.
He walks around the car and hops into the driver seat. Phil starts the car, looking to make sure he wouldn't hit anybody.
"Thank you for helping me." I say to Phil, turning to look at him.
"It's no problem. Is your head okay?"
"Not right now, but I can find something to help. I'm sure my spine in bruised, but that'll go away in a few days." I lean my head back against the seat and shut my eyes.
All I can focus on is the horrid pounding. I feel super hot despite feeling cold earlier.
"Can you give me some directions to where you live?" Phil asks with a chuckle.
"Oh yeah, of course. Sorry."
I direct him to my house which was only about five minutes away. Not too long.
"Do you need any help with your injuries?" Phil questions as he parks in my currently empty driveway.
"No, I wouldn't want to trouble you," I reply softly, shaking my head the smallest bit.
