Willow immediately wiped her face and glared at the intruder. It was a man with a blue suit and a long brown trench coat. His hair was spiked and he wore red Converse. Total weirdo, Willow thought.
"Well, any day can be a bad day actually. It depends on how you're doing, plus a bunch of external factors. Even the brightest and happiest day could be the worst for someone," the man murmured. He gave Willow a wide smile. She didn't return the favor.
"Can you not tell when someone wants to be left alone?" She said to him, weaker than she liked. He was interesting, and she didn't want to chase him away.
The man squinted his eyes as if he was actually thinking about the question. Suddenly, he got very serious.
"No one truly likes to be alone. Sure you might want to avoid a certain person...or persons, but you can always find comfort in somebody else. That's how humans are," he said. He gave another smile before reaching out his arm to her. "So how about I be the person that gets rid of that aloneness surrounding you?"
Reluctantly, Willow grabbed his hand and he pulled her onto her feet.
"I don't even know your name," she whispered.
"And I don't even know your's," he said back.
Willow smirked before pulling her hand away from his. She grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. The man began to leave the alleyway as he talked.
"What's something we can do to cheer ya up, huh?" He exclaimed, rubbing his hands together. "Ooh, we should get ice cream. Haven't gotten that in a while. That sounds lovely doesn't it?"
Willow shrugged and followed the guy, dazed and a bit confused.
"I shouldn't be following you," she said to him.
"Hm? Why not?"
"First of all, your dressed in a weird suit."
"Weird?" He said, offended. He pulled on his red tie before raising an eyebrow.
"I mean, you could be some creep who takes people who are off guard or something."
"Or something?"
"Yes, 'or something'," Willow said back quickly.
"What's the something then?" He said teasingly.
"The something is least possible."
The man stopped in his tracks, making Willow stop as well.
"Really? Because sometimes the least possible things are most possible. So enlighten me."
"The something is that you could just be a British dude in America with a strange suit who wants to cheer me up... conveniently," Willow was determined to keep up with this guy's little word game and obsession with picking apart her words.
The man let out a small laugh, making her golden brown skin radiate with warmth.
"I'm Willow Watterson," she said, stretching her hand out to properly introduce herself.
"I'm the Doctor. Come on," he said, taking her hand and unexpectedly pulling her along.
Willow noticed that this 'Doctor' was now walking with a small skip in his step.
"Nice shoes by the way," he said to her.
