"Doctor!" Willow shouted. She quickly realized that he wasn't going to stop, so she ran as fast as she could after him. It wasn't easy though. There were still a bunch of people on the street, plus the Doctor was pretty quick. After pushing through a small crowd of shoppers, Willow thought that she had lost him until she saw a small piece of brown fabric slink around an alleyway corner.
"Gotcha!" Willow said out loud. She chased him down the alley before stopping. In front of her was the Doctor and a...blue box. It was labeled with bright white letters.
Police Box, it read.
"What's that?" She asked, confused.
"It's mine," the Doctor replied, folding his arms and leaning on the box. "Tardis."
"Bless you," Willow said sarcastically. "Say that again, but slower."
"Time and Relative Dimension in Space. Tar-dis. And she's mine."
"I don't mean to burst your bubble but that says Police Box, Doctor."
"She's disguised to look like something a little more normal than what she really is."
"Huh." Willow huffed. She pulled on the ends of her hair as she stepped closer to the box.
"Would you like to go inside?" The Doctor asked as he opened the wooden door.
"Woah now, Doctor!" Willow said, taking a step back. "I'm not going into any box tonight. You're a good person, but that's a little too much."
"Just trust me, Willow."
The way he said her name made her want to.
"Fine. But only a peek. Promise to stay out here, okay?"
"Promise. Cross my hearts."
"Hearts?"
"Yeah," the Doctor said, using both hands to mime an x through his chest in two different places.
"Weirdo," Willow scoffed before stepping in the box. First it was black. Like she expected.
This dude is a psycho, she thought.
Then, the lights powered on. Willow gasped and she stumbled back. There was a control panel and a deck and... everything!
"It-how-what..." Willow said, her breath caught in her throat. "It's... it's..." she ran out of the box before running around it many times.
"It's, it's..." she gasped.
"I know, I know," the Doctor said cooly. "It's bigger on the inside-"
"Why the hell is it like that?!" Willow shrieked.
"Okay. Never got that before," the Doctor muttered as he rubbed his sideburns.
"Did you drug me?" Willow said, grabbing his collar and pulling him down to her view.
"What? No!" The Doctor yelped.
"I'm going crazy aren't I? I'm going positively crazy!" She rubbed her eyes. "Should I have gotten therapy when I had the chance?"
"Willow!" The Doctor placed both hands on her shoulders. "Your not going crazy. I promise. It's just... bigger on the inside that's all."
"That's all? That's all?!" Willow shook the Doctor back and forth until he pulled himself away.
Willow put her hands to her mouth before pacing back and forth.
"Okay. It's cool. I'm cool," she turned to the Doctor. "Sorry about the freakout. I've never been in something like this. Though I don't think many have."
"Yes it's a... perfectly normal reaction to something like this," the Doctor said, still shaken up (hehe) from earlier. "More or less."
They sat in silence, both a bit alarmed from both the Tardis and Willow's reaction.
"So it's bigger on the inside," Willow said, breaking the silence.
"Yup." The Doctor kept his eyes on her before whistling a little tune.
"What?" She asked.
"Normally those who travel with me like to ask how it works."
"Travel with you? And how what works?"
"How the largeness gets stuffed into one small box."
"Oh."
"S-so you're not going to ask?"
"No. I kinda want to keep it a mystery. Keep it magical. Life's better that way."
"It normally gives me a chance to talk for a bit though. I like to talk, me. Normally I chat about clever things, but other stuff can be talked about if you want."
"We can talk after I go back in," Willow said excitedly as she went back to the Tardis.
"You want to get in again?"
"After the freakout, it actually seems pretty damn cool."
The Doctor shrugged and smiled. "Alrighty then. Allons-y!"
Willow stopped and turned around.
The Doctor passed by her and into the Tardis. "It's French!" He shouted behind him. "For let's go!"
"Of course it is," Willow said. She followed him inside and closed the door behind her.
