I woke the next morning to Roger still snoring. He loves to sleep in and I love to wake up early. I got dressed and went to the kitchen to make myself a cuppa and make a list of things we have to get done for the wedding. I knew I wanted a simple wedding, nothing crazy. I saw a dress in the shops a couple days earlier. Wasn't an actual wedding dress, but it was beautiful. I moved on to the guest list, which was easy, we wanted it to be small and intimate. I started writing down everyone names but stopped once I got to my side. I didn't want to admit it but I wanted my sister there. The last words I said to her were something along the lines of "you bloody cunt". I'm pretty sure she didn't want to speak me. Oh well. I finished all my lists as Roger was walking into the kitchen. "What do you have there, Love?" He asked rubbing his eyes. "Wedding lists. I want to run to the shops to see if they still have the dress I want." I told him gathering the papers to put back in our room. "Sounds good, were recording today at the studio. Just grab cash from the box in the closet to buy the dress." He shouted. I grabbed some cash and rummaged through my old shoe box of shit. I knew it's somewhere in here. After searching for a few minutes, I found my sisters building number. Assuming she hadn't moved. I stuffed it in my pocket, gave Roger a kiss and ran out the door. I walked to Ben and Joe's flat to see if they were busy. I hit the buzzer a few times, just to bother them. "Who the hell is there?" Joe roared at me. "Olivia, come dress shopping with me!" I shouted. "We'll be down in 5 minutes!" They both said back to me. I paced back and fourth a few times before going into the phonebooth. I grabbed the piece of paper, put my coins in and dialed my sister's building number. "Hello?" A man answered. "Hi, does Liz still live in flat 5A?" I asked nervously. "She does, I can get her if you'd like. Just give me a minute" he said. My stomach felt like it was gonna fall out of my ass. That minute lasted a lifetime to me. "Hello, whose this?" Liz said in her annoyed tone. Hearing her voice felt so foreign to me. "It's Olivia." I answered back. "Olivia! You're talking to me so I assume that prick cheated on you again?" She snapped at me. She was never one to hold back. "I uh, I broke up with him a little over a year ago. I'm in London now,
I just wanted to call to apologize. I treated you poorly when you were just trying to protect me." I explained to her. There was a brief silence. "I accept your apology. I'm sorry I wasn't nicer to you about it. Are you happy in London?" she said. Her tone had changed from angry to sweet. "Very much. I've met a nice crowd, focusing on my art, and I've been dating a nice lad for 9 months. He was the one who pushed me to call you. You'd like him." I said, not wanting to bring up the proposal. "That's good to hear, he sounds amazing. If your not doing anything for your birthday, I'd love to come to London to see you." She said. I couldn't stop smiling. "Of course! I'll give you a call later to talk out the details. Liz, please dont tell dad or the siblings." I said quietly. "Promise, I love you." Liz said. "I love you too" I said hanging up. I hung up as Ben and Joe were walking out the door. "Who were you on the phone with?" Ben asked giving me a hug. "Called Roger to see how much I could spend on the dress. He said not worry about it. Ready?" I said trying to change the subject. "Let's go!" Joe shouted. They put their arms around me as we walked down to the shops. Ben and Joe kept humming hear comes the bride and asking me 1,000 questions about the wedding. They continued on even in the shop. We kept looking for the dress I wanted, took about 20 minutes before I found it. "Do you like it?" I said putting it up against me. Joe immediately started crying. "It's beautiful, love. Not sure if Joe will stop long enough to say anything but I think he likes it. Go try it on!" Ben said laughing. Joe is a hopeless romantic, always been. I walked to the fitting room and tried it on. It fit perfect. It was an off white, lace dress. It was slightly off the shoulder with 3/4 length loose white lace sleeves. I walked out to show they boys. "Oh my, you look amazing Olivia!" Joe said still crying. "Agreed, Roger might lose it when he see's you. Want me to take a picture to show your family?" Ben asked grabbing my Polaroid. I immediately started sobbing I wasn't sad, I was frustrated. They boys ran over to comfort me. I explained to them my family situation, including reconnecting with my sister. "I feel stupid, I haven't thought about my dad in 4 years. Roger wants me to meet his mum, I have no idea how to act around a one. I'm just feeling overwhelmed" I said trying to calm myself down. "Have you talked to Roger about this?" Joe asked me. I shook my head no. "Well you should, he'll wanna be there for you." Joe said. I knew he was right. I took the dress off and went up to pay for it. We dropped the dress off at Ben and Joe's flat and went out for a drink to cheers to my dress. "To the most beautiful bride" Ben said smiling at me. We raised our glasses and all took a drink. A few pints turned into a few too many and I was drunk. Stumbling with the boys to the studio to meet up with Roger. It was still early in the afternoon so they were still there. I loved watching him work on songs. Love watching my fiancé do anything.
