Chapter 35 - The Ending

Jordyn's P.O.V

Colby and I settled back into our normal daily things. Drop Darcy off with Corey or Devyn if we had a busy day. Which usually only happened every Tuesday and Thursday. Corey had her Tuesdays and Devyn on Thursdays.

And then we'd attend our meetings or whatever we had those days. I was still walking around with a 7 month pregnant belly, I looked like I could pop!

Today was Thursday November 19th, 2023. A day I wouldn't ever forget...

It started out as our normal days, get up and get ready, get Darcy dressed and have her at Devyn's at 8:45 am. I threw on a long maternity sweater and back high heel boots, accompanied by light makeup and my short straight hair. Colby threw on a nice pair of jeans and a dress shirt for his meeting.

I grabbed the hot coco off the counter Colby made me, kissed him goodbye, and left for work. It was 7:30 am, and Colby was dropping Darcy off before his 9 am meeting.

I rushed to work and headed in, we were doing a photo shoot today for the cast of some movie I don't remember.

*Skip to lunch*

I took my lunch break at 1:30 and decided to walk to the Tender Greens 2 blocks away. As I was walking I had started getting these weird and painful cramps. I brushed it off and made it into Tender Greens. I was waiting in line when it happened...

My water broke...

I was 2 months early, why is it breaking?

The cramping started getting worse and someone had called an ambulance as an older woman helped me to a seat. "Just breathe, okay? How far along are you?" She spoke. I did as I was told and kept my breathing calm. "7 months" I breathed out.

She looked a little worried but helped me remain calm. I grabbed my phone and rung Colby. "Pick up... pick up Colby please" I mumbled to myself. And with no luck, it went to voicemail.

I called Devyn. "Dev, my water broke and I can't get ahold of Colby" I said into the phone. "Jesus! Where are you? Are you okay?" Devyn replied quickly. "I was on my lunch break and came into Tender Greens" I said.

"I'll meet you at the hospital, I'm going to drop Darcy with Corey, run to Colby's meeting and tell him. I'll be at the hospital after you. Be carful" Devyn said frantically. A few moments later the ambulance arrived and I was being driven to the hospital.

The doctors had me in a gown, and in a labor room within minutes of me arriving. Devyn and Colby came bursting through the door and ran to my side. I kissed Colby and hugged Devyn. "Is everything okay?" Colby asked the doctor.

"Actually, yes. Jordyn is just having an early labor" Doctor Caley replied. "But the baby is fine?" I asked. "Yes Mrs. Brock, your baby is fine and perfectly healthy. Some women do give birth early" Dr. Caley replied.

After calming down the worry of if my baby was safe or not. Devyn and Colby had called the others to come and wait in the waiting room. Occasionally they'd pop into the room.

I heard a knock on the door, and in walked my beautiful baby girl. "Mama! Dada!" Darcy yelled as she ran for us. Colby picked her up and spun her around. I reached out and pulled her onto the bed next to me.

"Is my big bug ready for her brother?" I asked her. She nodded and her bun flopped. Anytime she was with Corey she came home with her hair done like his, the top thrown into a bun.

"Mrs. Brock, it's time" the one nurse spoke. "You gotta go back out with uncle Corey baby, you can come see your brother once he arrives. I love you" I spoke as I kissed Darcy's head. She mumbled out her 'i love you' and Corey took her back out with the others.

Within minutes I was pushing, Devyn holding my right hand, and Colby holding the left.

After a few more hard and agonizing pushes. I heard the beautiful sound of my baby boy crying. The nurse placed him on my chest and wrapped a small blanket around him, I looked at Colby and started crying. "You did it baby" Colby said softly. I looked around Devyn and smiled at her.

After they cut the baby's cord and got him cleaned and in an outfit and blanket I finally had him back in my arms.

Colby held him after I did and then Devyn. I made sure to take lots of pictures.

The rest of the group came in, sat around and held the newist addition to the Brock family. I helped Darcy hold him and it was the cutest thing ever to see her light up an round the sight of him.

"Have you picked a name yet?" Kat asked. I looked at Colby and nodded. "Yes," he trailed off.

"Bently Cole Brock"

Okaaay... so I'm like totally not crying over then fact that I just ended this story. But all great things must come to an end. I hope you all have enjoyed reading this as much as I have writing it.

This actually wasn't the way I originally wanted to end it. But it's the cuter way.
