It has been 2 weeks since I kissed Wes. I've been keeping it from Damien for 2 weeks and tonight is the night that I am finally going to tell him.
We decided to have dinner at his place. He was making dinner and said he was making it 'fancy.' Who knows what he is going to do beyond that or what he is going to say. This is so beyond the normal for us, I'm starting to think that this is the night when he asks to make things serious.
The last couple of weeks have been amazing for our relationship, and we have made a bunch of advancements.
1. Serious Dates, not the stupid little lunch things
Don't get me wrong, I love our lunch dates and all but ya know nothing is better than real dates.
2. PDAs in public
Holding hands, hugging, holds one another as we wait in lines and what not. Even a few kisses have made their way into our public relationship.
3. Actually starting to feel that there is a future with Damien and I
I've never felt the way I do about anyone else, the way I feel for Damien. He is the most perfect thing, and he treats me so well. I'm starting to think that I am falling in love with that gigantic nerd.
There is only one thing keeping me from letting myself fall, the fact that I have this guilt of Wes eating away at me.
I made my way to Damien's and got mentally prepared for the fact that I am going to ruin this night.
I walked up to the door and stood there for a few seconds, letting the nerves slip away as much as they would allow.
I knocked on the door. A couple seconds passed, but they felt like hours. Damien came to the door answering it. He was dressed in a deep blue dress shirt tucked into some black pants. His hair swooped over his forehead, the blue streak matching his apparel.
"Hey there. You look lovely." Damien greeted, smiling wider than I've ever seen.
"Hey." I responded. He welcomed me into the apartment and we made our way to the kitchen.
"Dinner is almost ready. You can have a seat at the table and I will bring it out." Damien rushed me to the table.
I looked at the table top and spotted roses in an elegant vase and tea candles peppered the surface. My heart melted at the sweet gesture.
Moments passed and I sat at the table, figuring out how I would tell Damien the news. I could ease him into it, I could just be straight up, I could joke about something worse like a pregnancy scare and then tell him.
"Here we go." Damien said bringing out the plates of food.
Chicken Alfredo with an arugula salad, and homemade garlic bread. Just like the first time we made dinner together.
"Oh shit. I forgot to ask you if you wanted something to drink. Would you like anything?" Damien stumbled over his words.
He is obviously nervous too.
"I'll just have some ice water. Thanks."
Damien ran to the kitchen to get drinks and then came back. He placed the drinks on the table as he sat down.
"Dig in." He gave the code to start eating.
We both started to eat. Minutes went by and the only thing happening was the consumption of food. A few minutes later Damien spoke:
"I need to tell you something."
"Yeah, there is something I have to say as well." I started.
"May I go first?" Damien asked.
I reluctantly nodded and he started to speak.
"These last couple months with you have been nothing shy of perfect and I've never felt better about where I am in life."
"I totally agree." I smiled and Damien's eyes lit up.
"Spending all of this time with you has taught me so much about what a real relationship should feel like. I know we haven't made things official yet but I think that we are in the place where we should. so, Y/N will you b-"
"I was with Wes."
