Chapter 39 - Doubt

A/N Izuku is 5'11 in this story sorry I forgot to add that earlier

Shoto was standing in front of All Might and Katsuki "Something happened to Izuku during spring break". All Might was obviously nervous and looked to be scared at what Shoto was going to say next.

Shoto sighed and said "Izuku was kidnapped and tortured by Shigaraki and his crew". Katsuki stood up and grabbed Shoto by his collar "there's no way Izuku could be kidnapped he's way to strong for some shit like that".

Shoto looked Katsuki in his eyes and said sorrowfully "I know it's hard to believe...and even harder to accept but-

Shoto broke eye contact with him "but his body is riddled with scars". Katsuki let him go and looked to the ground in confusion. "if he was kidnapped and...tortured why not tell us"? Shoto shrugged and said "Survivor Trauma maybe".

Shoto and Katsuki turned to All Might and saw him in his Muscle form frowning with steam coming from his body. The sight sent shivers down the boys' spines. "Excuse me boys please go back to class and tell Aizawa I won't able to attend my class today".

They did as they were told and left for class when they entered they saw Izuku with a troubled look on his face.

Once school was over Izuku and the rest of Class 1-A all walked back to the dorms. Izuku entered his room and took off his school uniform. Izuku put on a white tank top on with dark blue sweats and left his room.

As he was exiting he bumped into Momo causing her to fall Izuku immediately extended his hand to help her up.

Momo POV

As Midoriya was helping me up he continuously apologized to me once I was standing I dusted off my clothes and looked to him however I was taken off guard by how sturdy his body was. I knew how strong Midoriya was but I couldn't help but stare amazed however staring too long caused him to notice me staring at him weirdly. He looked at me confused.

"Are you alright Momo"? I tried to avert my eyes and nodded as a response while trying not to stare at his body... I felt a warm feeling in my cheeks and ears.

I looked up and saw him smiling but I saw the pain behind it "I'm fine Midoriya but...are you okay" his smile faded and he nodded slowly and smiled again "I'm good Momo...and you don't have to call me Midoriya...Izuku is fine".

"Okay...Izuku" we then walked towards the living room and we saw everyone watching a news broadcast of Izuku fighting the villains. Everyone was cheering for Izuku and Mineta was sitting the closest jumping up and down cheering for Mid-...Izuku.

I turned to Izuku and he looked sick to his stomach before I could ask what was wrong he left. I watched him walk away and enter the entrance to the roof.

Izuku POV

I walked to the Living room with Momo and when we arrived I saw them watching a broadcast of me beating the villains...crippling them. It's like my senses stopped working. I turned away from them and walked away

What if they judge me for what I did? What if they are disappointed with me... like All Might was. Once I reached the rooftop tears streamed down my face. I wiped them away but more came...maybe I'm not meant to be a hero.

I hear the rooftop door open and I turned around and saw Momo. I looked away not wanting her to see me cry. She touched my shoulder and I turned my head to face her. She wiped my tears away "what's wrong Izuku".

I turn to her making eye contact with her "When I was fighting those villains all I felt was anger at the lives they took...the homes they destroyed...the families pain". I averted my eyes again "So I hurt them...badly...and it felt good...good to avenge the people...good to finally let go and dish out the same pain they caused and I...I don't know if I can actually be a great hero".

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The Most certain way to succeed is always to try one more time" Momo quoted

Izuku made eye contact and said "Thomas A. Edison" Momo nodded and said "don't let one moment define who you are or who you'll be".

Izuku leaned forward and hugged Momo "when'd you get so good at that Momo"?

"Good at what"?

"Cheering people up" Izuku laughed.

"I've had prep time" she said as she hugged him back.
