Trina sat and listened as Raine told her about her outrageous visit with her mother, the blonde was the only one who knew Raine's secret so when the princess sat pouting for an hour Trina decided to ask what the matter was," I can't go back!" Raine complained looking down at her best friend with teary blue eyes her pacing coming to a halt. Trina grabbed Raine's hand and pulled her down to sit next to her.
"Calm down Raine, how long do you have with us?" Trina stroked Raine's silky hair, calming her down with the gentle touch.

Raine sighed, " Two months then I'll be forced to go." she huffed. She rested her head on her shoulder, Trina's cheeks started to heat up but she ignored it looking down at the raven-haired female.
"We'll figure it out okay?" Trina rubbed her back reassuringly as Raine nodded smiling, the two ended up with a Netflix marathon of The Big Bang Theory.

Trina was right of course. Raine kept telling herself that as she got out of her car at Stephanie's house. She was gonna tell them all the truth today. She let herself in and saw everyone sitting on the couches. Trina gave her a reassuring smile, after all, Trina was the only one who knew the truth and had promised to be silent support, Raine took a deep breath and explained to them about what she was.

After a few moments of silence, Trina stood up took Raine's hand and announced," Neev and I would also like to confess something..." Raine looked at Trina her facial features showing shock, however, her brain was already calculating, but Trina wouldn't meet her eyes. Raine sat down looking first at Trina then at Neev, then back again trying to piece together the situation, was it what she was suspecting when their scents were unfamiliar?

"It's hard to explain so I'm just gonna shift," Neev said standing up, shrugging at Trina's grateful smile, Raine noted on it but would ask later. Just then Neev glowed white when the flash faded his limbs were longer, his ears were pointed, his build was stronger, and he had long canines, his eyes held an immortal glow, meaning he had already settled and was far older than 21. He flashed those pointed canines as he gave a small smile. As everyone's eyes were on the fae no one noted the girl in the corner swallowing a growl as her urge to slit the filthy thing's throat before her became difficult.
" We are fae," Trina said the smallest tremor in her voice.

Raine blinked, once then twice," Why didn't you tell me?" her voice was soft as she asked Trina. The female's face instantly filled with guilt, Stephanie watched a small smirk on her face at the look on the green-eyed girl's face.
"I asked her not to," Neev answered before Trina could. Raine nodded understanding in her eyes.
Stephanie and Sam shared a look then Stephanie said," Well I'm bored now. Ice cream anyone?"
Raine burst out laughing." Only you could ask for ice cream after this kinda conversation."

Raine told them all about having to go back the next day. They all looked sad, but suddenly Neev said," If you go Raine. Trina and I are going with."

Trina looked at him in shock." Do you mean it?" She whispered to her brother, her face lit up even more as he nodded. Raine watched a glint of an untold emotion in her eye but gone in a blink.
Stephanie nodded," Me too. This place is boring anyway." Raine was close to tears but turned to Sam.

He shook his head," I can't leave my sister." Trina frowned but understood having lost her mom and dad. They all left, the air slightly tense. Sam wouldn't endanger his sister and for that, a certain chain of events would unfold as an unknown force watched the princess and her friends.

A few days later Raine sat on Trina'a bed," Why did you give Neev such a grateful smile when you revealed your secret?" Ash asked looking at the ceiling an eye on the girl opposite her.

Trina froze at her desk her hands stopping their drawing and turned to look at the demon on her green and gold bedding." I-I umm err, well you see, Neev knew I was...shy about my...fae form..."

Trina prayed Raine would believe her sad excuse for a lie. Raine nodded but she didn't look convinced however, she didn't push her, having a slight idea as to what kept the female before her from turning into her normal form.
No she knew exactly why and it was her doing, she needed Trina to stay close.

Raine visited her mother a few days later saying she was leaning towards coming but she didn't want to leave one of her friends behind. Her mother snarled," You have an empire to rule! You will come back."
Ash flinched at the harsh words." I'm not evil like you...I don't think anything could make me be anyway..."
" Do not deny what ebbs and flows in your very soul. You do not fool me child." Her mother dismissed her after that.

Raine was pacing up and down her room, she was worried about leaving Sam. She called him a few times but he hasn't answered. She called Trina and asked her to call Sam and see if he was mad at her or something.

Trina called back a while later saying Sam hasn't answered anyone today." Meet me at his house." She told Trina already getting into her car. Trina was standing with Stephanie and Neev when Raine arrived. They all walked up to the drive and knocked on the door. The door creaked open just as Stephanie lowered her hand.

They all stepped inside and saw the dining room in a mess. Raine ran upstairs and slammed Amy's room door open, she fell to her knees at the sight of Amy lying in bed. Dead. The little girl she took as a little sister was laying in her bed, her body in ribbons, her throat slit open and her face still showing pure pain and terror.

" Raine...We found Sam..." she heard Stepanie saying from the opposite room. Ash dragged her numb body off the ground and to where she heard Stephanie's voice. She almost threw up at Sam's organs spread out around his bed spelling: Home is where the heart is
His heart however was missing from the pile of organs neatly displayed.

" Your mother...She's behind this." Trina spat green eyes flickering with rage as she surveyed the gruesome sight before them.

" No...Demons can't come to the mortal world without being summoned, and no one has been able to summon my mother in over a century." Raine whispered and wiped her eyes.
Her beloved Amy. She was gone. Her little sister. She planned on taking Amy with her regardless...Now she was dead.

She was going to make whoever did this pay. She would tear them to shreds making sure they lived through every second of it, that was a promise she would keep, no doubt.
Once they all left the house and said their final goodbyes, Raine burned the house to cinders, Sam and Amy with it.

Her very soul was burning a week later as she sat in her council room."Who?" She snarled her blue eyes going an inky black as her human disguise wavered." We don't know who exactly but we're working on it as fast as we can, princess. We know a set squad was sent but we don't know how their orders got mismanaged. It would be easier with evidence but you burned-" The general cut himself off noting Raine's glare.

Raine paced her chambers as she waited for her friends to summon her to make her return to the mortal world. She only gave them her summing spell to use now and in emergencies, Stephanie was the only mortal in the group now so only she could summon the princess. Raine would erase her memories if she ever turned against her. Just then she felt a tug deep in her chest, they were calling her. She knew that if she ignored it for too long it would start hurting, badly.

She transported to her house where they agreed to meet." You summoned me, are you done with packing?" Raine asked as she appeared on the pentagram that sat in her room.
"Yeah, we're ready to go," Trina said coming into the room with one of the last bags, Neev just behind.
Stephanie sat on Raine's bed picking at her nails." Can we go yet?" Raine nodded and reopened the portal with half a thought.
