As daylight broke over the underworld, a demon princess discovered that not just half her friends vanished but her general did too." Where are they! How dare they run away without saying a word!" The princess snarled pacing her council room." I thought I told at least one of you to watch my mate! Aliki, I put that responsibility in your hands did I not?"
The prince nodded not breaking eye contact." Is it because I'm not our mother? Is that why you see no reason to follow my orders? Or is it the fact that you can see that Trina isn't my mate and saw no reason to watch her?"
" Sister. You know as well as we do. Demons and witches do not have mates." Alika stated with a head tilt.
" Yes, but it was meant to keep her here. Keep them all here so I can watch them. So they don't get in my way or get hurt." She hissed looking at her younger siblings.

The twins shared a glance then looked back at their enraged older sister." If you included us in your plans more," Alika pointed out leaning back in her seat," we could understand the urgency of each order." Aliki finished.
Raine's pale green scaley tail knocked over a chair as she snarled.
" To think I need to give you every damned detail just so you'll care about my orders!" She growled and ran her fingers through her thick red hair." I'll fix this. You two...I thought you understood me better." She sighed before heading for the door.

Raine's temper was hanging by a thread, unsure if the needle was going to fall down into a pile of rage or sadness as she stormed out and walked to Stephanie's room. The witch sat reading on the silver sofa that took up a whole wall in her chambers." Hey Raine. Hey, what's wrong?" Stephanie stood up and hugged the slightly shorter female." Did Trina find out that you didn't tell her about there being a traitor in the group, and that she and Neev were the only suspects?" The demon shook her head.
" There weren't ever any traitors. There were no villains to make them betray me." She muttered.

Raine decided she would tell Stephanie the truth about the traitor thing, for some reason just being around someone that was the same species as herself put the half breed at ease." No...she's just gone, along with Neev and his mate, Thaman." Stephanie gasped shocked at the news before a grin crept across her lips.
" You. You had Sam killed?"
Raine nodded flexing her fingers." Amy wasn't meant to die. I've already thoroughly punished the squad that had been summoned for the job." Raine sighed and massaged the base of her horns.
" You killed one of your friends...Raine that doesn't make you look very good." Stephanie hummed in a sing song tone.
Raine only nodded." He wouldn't have died if he just agreed. Sacrificing one for the many has never been a bad thing." She sighed rubbing her temples." He was also the only human apparently, someone would've tried to kill him here anyways. I saved time."

Stephanie nodded slowly and crossed her arms leaning back agaisnt the sofa." Why did they leave? Was this a part of your plan?"
" No. Alika and Aliki were meant to gather information about the Rose family. They've been known for keeping demons from getting a proper breech in the human world. I need them out of the way. What I didn't need is Neev and Trina finding out that the Rose family is innocent in regards to Sam's death."

" I should've killed them. They are nothing but inconvenient." Stephanie muttered softly watching Raine pace, mesmerized by the swaying of that green tail and the glint of crimson hair in the pale sun streaming in through a parted courtain.

Stephanie hadn't been even two full years away from her clan when Ash had found her, ignoring her odd ways. Stephanie Silver Blood heir to a coven of Fae Killer witches had made a friend with a half breed witch. That half-breed showed her how to act human and introduced the witch to two fae. Although the urge to kill them overtook her, seeing Raine smiling at the fae princess made her heart shatter, so she laid off, trying to accept them as family.
Now she realises that no small crush was worth sparing Fae.
