Chapter 7

Raine Dark

I have been training almost none stop lately, but Trina insisted I have a few days off because rest is just as important as training. I agreed after she nagged for a week straight. Sadly Trina hasn't been with me for the first two days of my week off, by week I mean five days, so I spent those two days reading, drawing and doing light exercises, I got yelled at for the last one but it doesn't matter.

Day three my mate finally decides to spend time with me." Why do you make me take time off if you're not going to spend it with me?" I grumble when she walks into our room.
" Aww, my mate was lonely?" She chuckled when a growl was my only response." Come on, grumpy pants, I've got something to show you." She walked over to the grey and black, two-seater couch I was sprawled on and practically dragged me off when I refused to move.

"Explain to me again why I'm blindfolded, following you and not getting a reason for having to wear this blindfold?" I grumble but the only reply I get is a loud and dramatic sigh.
" Raine, just be patient." I sigh but stop trying to get her to tell me where we are going. I feel myself take a right, a left, head straight for a bit and finally I feel the wind against my cheeks and I know we're outside." Please don't let me knock into a tree." I chuckle as I hear an annoyed sigh.

Trina Sage

Nerves were eating at my stomach, but I pushed it aside and kept leading Raine to the spot I picked out. I know it's corny to plan a date and all that but I couldn't help myself, after weeks of accepting that she is my mate we haven't had a single couple moment, so I have decided to make one. I sit Raine down on a green and blue polka-dotted blanket." Okay, once I remove your blindfold you can't laugh, understand?" I relaxed a bit when she nodded, I slowly took the blindfold off, watching for her reaction carefully.

Raine Dark

I was speechless, I was sitting on a blanket in one of my most favourite gardens, surrounded by chocolate-dipped strawberries, cheesecake, milk tart, cheese puffs, sushi, and iced coffee?!

"Raine? Raine...your drooling."
I snapped out of my thoughts and wiped my mouth blushing, "O-oh, sorry, Trina, I guess I got lost in wonder at all this food...it's all my favourites..." However, they are all the ones Trima loves aswell? She is so sneaky but so smart, that's one of the reasons I loved having her close, hopefully, one day I'll tell her.
She sits down next to me, smiling softly."Do you like it?"

"Yes, it's wonderful, thank you, Trina." I lean over to kiss her cheek and blush when she gets me on the lips.
" Why you little sneak!" We tumble into the grass as I jump her, laughing at her yelp of surprise. I manage to pin her arms down, me on her waist holding her down. I knew I was in trouble as her annoyed expression turned to a smirk, just as I thought that she bucked her hips, throwing me off balance, I swayed slightly and she managed to grab my arms, twisting us around and changing our positions. In a blink of my eyes, I was staring up at a blue sky with Tony's long blonde hair falling in gentle waves on her face and tickling my nose slightly as she bent down and pecked my lips.
" You are my mate, I will kiss you if I want too." She purred and kissed each of my cheeks, making me turn a brighter shade of green.

After we stopped trying to pin each other, we sat down again and started eating." Is this why you wanted me to take time off, so we could have a date?" She nodded poping another strawberry in her mouth, I smiled and finished off my last bit of milk tart.

Zen Rose

I sat down outside, in the shade next to my best friend, Axel," Zen, you should take it easy more often you know?" I just nod in reply leaning against a tree.

Axel throws an apple and I catch it with ease." Thanks, I will try taking it easy now and again, if only to make you stop whining." I started munching on my apple.
" Thank you, now will you finally try going to the mall with me?"

I do wonder why he keeps on wanting to go back to the human world, honestly, just because he is half-human doesn't mean he needs to keep on wanting to go back. I understand that he has a human mother and Fae father that live in the human world but why must he drag me into it? Even his sister prefers it here in our realm.
I was a lot older than him when he was brought here, so I looked after him like a little brother and we became as close as brothers.

"Fine, I'll come to the mall with you tomorrow but you're getting Judith to come. I'm not risking my neck for your grumpy little sister." I huffed and Axel groaned softly.
The only happy thing about going to the human world is seeing the smile on Axle's face. I will protect him no matter what, he means everything to me and I'd be lost without him.

Raine Dark

I dodged the guard's kick managing to get in a hard punch, but he got me in the gut, luckily I didn't double over and I managed to kick him in the temple rendering him unconscious." Good job, Princess Raine." I turned smiling at General Alice Carter, also known as General Carter." Thanks, General, but I've already told you not to call me princess whilst we train." She just smirks and walks to another group of training soldiers, I roll my eyes and start running laps with Trina, who finally decided to get her butt out of bed.

After training, I have to go have a meeting with my mother and siblings. I walk into her council room, greeting my siblings with a nod and taking my seat at my mother's right."You called this meeting because?" She turns red filled voids towards me.
" Raine. Just because it is only us four does not mean you have any right to address me so casually. We have news on the murderers of your human friend, the fae group your mate suspected is the killer."
I shake my head.
" You know that's not the case. Stop protecting whoever killed Amy."

Alika tilted her head and smiled at me." Sister you're so kind, why not kill the whole operation team?"

My mother acted as if nothing was said and went on." The leader is currently the Rose family. Their heir is Zen Rose, sadly we do not know more than that, the fae we captured died from blood loss although that Stephanie girl did pump quite a bit out of him.?" My mother practically purred the last bit, and my siblings looked very pleased about it." Oh, that isn't all Raine dear, we have news that there is a traitor, most likely those two faeries, in your group of friends."
My eyes narrowed at her." How dare you accuse my friends! Do you doubt my control over the situation?"

" Raine, you will not raise your voice at me!" My mother practically snarled, a vice-like grip was around my neck within seconds, Aliki held me against the wall, choking the air out of me.
" Do not think I won't snap your neck in a heartbeat if you disrespect mother like that again!" He snarled tail flicking in agitation as I stared into the empty voids of his eyes but I didn't back down and eventually, Alika pried Aliki off me.
I was dismissed and warned not to trust my mate and her brother.
