 ^ Grandpa Marvin ^

"This is my girlfriend, Faith Cabrera."

That can't be her, no, no. I must be hallucinating...

"SHUT UP!" I yelled, my grandchildren and their parents falling in silence. I have never shouted at them before. I looked at them, realizing that my oldest son, Albert, was looking at the girl on the television with tears in his eyes.

"Marla," he whispered, just loud enough for me to hear. "Dad," he continued, facing me. "She's an exact copy of Marla," Albert said, still not believing his eyes.

"That's my granddaughter," I told, not believing what just came out of my mouth either."She... She didn't die in the car crash," Albert replied.

Then, I realized everyone was staring at us. I have got to explain this, but the problem is, I don't know-how.Edward, my other son, spoke up. "Dad, Marla had a daughter."

My youngest grandchild, Micah, tilted his head in curiosity. "Who's Marla?"

"Marla is- was my daughter. She passed away in a car crash when she was 20." I rubbed my eyes tiredly. "She wanted to get married to a man, Ron Cabrera, but I didn't agree, so she eloped with him and got herself pregnant. Marla came back once she knew she was having a child but I kicked her out."

I braced myself for what I was about to say. "Two years later, my assistant told me she died in a car crash."

"I thought her daughter died as well, but I think not. I want her back. I want Faith Cabrera back," I finalized, my voice becoming firm.

Lara, my other granddaughter, exclaimed, "But Granddad, do you think she'll come back with you after, what, eighteen years? She doesn't even know you!"

"No," I briefly said, looking at Lance, a trusted family friend.

"Lance, will you follow me to my office?" Lance looked back at me and nodded, silently following.

When we got to my office, I started pacing back and forth anxiously, biting on my fingernails. "Grandpa, what is it?" Lance asked me.

"I'm afraid what I am about to ask of you is going to be too much," I wondered out loud.

Lance simply answered, "I would die for you."

"I don't believe any of the shit that pretty-boy rapper says, I don't believe Faith Cabrera is his girlfriend. I want you, Lance, to go get her and bring her to me."

Lance breathed a sigh of relief. "That must be easy, don't worry. I bet she wants to see her family."

waved his thoughts away, sighing. "I don't think she will. Besides, I still can't forgive myself for allowing what happened to Marla."

I want you to make Faith fall in love with you, or trust you at the least. If she does, then it'll be easier to convince her." It was a strange plan, but it was the best I could come up with.

"I-I..," Although Lance tried his best to hide it, I could see the hesitation in his eyes.

He confidently continued, "I will do it, and I'm going to fly to Orlando during the next week.

I will not come back until I have her with me." That's why I trust Lance, he's very loyal. Hopefully, he won't take a long time.

^ Lance ^

How am I going to make her love me? I don't even know her. Plus, I'm not exactly one for lovely happily-ever-afters. Although I would do anything for Grandpa.

What if Faith doesn't end up loving or trusting me? Okay, Lance, let's be positive here and say that she's going to love me. But, that doesn't mean I'll love her. How am I going to face her? \

Ugh, this is too much. I need a shower. A cold one.

"Dada, dada!" my tiny baby, Jax, called from the babysitter's arm. He's only two years old, but his mother, Kayla, died while giving birth to him. I won't say I actually loved her, but she meant something.

I can't help but think about my future. Would I end up falling in love with Faith? If I did, would she love Jax and treat him as her own?

I cooed at Jax cheerfully. "Hi, baby!" I'll be leaving next week, and I don't know how long I'm going to stay. To make matters even worse, I can't bring Jax with me! I'm going to miss him so much...
