Your P.O.V

I was limping to the largest ship mast, but before I reached my destination Adrien rushed to me sweeping me off of my feet, carrying me to an ammunition box that laid abandoned under the mast. "Thanks." I breathed out, feeling my muscles constantly relax and restrict as the pain slowly dissipated along with the heat radiating from the injury as I began to calm down my raging heart.

"It's the least I could do, but we still need to stop the bleeding." Adrien replied, a concentrated look covered his features as he scanned the surroundings for anything that could stop me from dying from blood loss. I ripped the bottom of my white blouse and gave it to Adrien with a painful smirk on my face as I rested back onto the mast. "Th...Thanks." Adrien stuttered, while wrapping my leg, suddenly Adrien pulled the bandages tightly causing me to hiss in pain and straightened my posture. "Sorry!" Adrien shouted, releasing the bandages immediately causing it to fall to the oak floor.

"It's fine just tie it more gently." I breathed out, leaning my head against the mast to attempt to ignore the pain that flooded my system and shocked me awake. When Adrien was done tying the bandages, the crew finally returned to the ship, when they saw me they rushed over and started interrogating Adrien and I like we were someone who was famous. "Guys shut up!" I yelled, and stared out over the now silenced people, while grinding me teeth together to help me endure the pain from me suddenly standing up.

"Adrien...can you...take me to...my quarters and Luke go...and get us off...this Island." I continued, while taking gasps in between my words as the adrenaline started to fade and fatigue started to cloud my mind every few minutes. This caused me to collapse back onto the ammunitions box which probably wasn't the smartest place for me to rest on since I haven't used it in so long it might be unstable.

"Yes, Captain!" Luke shouted, while running to the wheel and giving orders to everyone on board, making my crew scatter like rats to finish the tasks as quickly as possible. Adrien picked me up and made his way to my quarters and the trip was nothing more then silence.

~~time skip~~

I was in bed reading Pride and Prejudice when a soft knock came from my oak door. "Come in." I said, placing my book on the bedside table as I fish out a bottle of rum for later. I was shocked to see Adrien come into my quarters this late in the night. "Adrien how can I help you?" I asked, giving him my full attention knowing it must be important since he came to me around ten at night.

"I'm sorry, for causing this mess." Adrien said, while hanging his head refusing to look in my direction. I could hear the whimper in his voice as he spoke, I could also see how badly he was shaking.

"Adrien it wasn't your fault, the Banshee wanted an excuse for a while to shoot me...see you had no part in any of it." I say, getting out of bed carefully and placing my hand under his chin, and slowly lift up his chin so I could see his wonderfully, forest colored eyes while telling him that he won't have to worry about it anymore. I wish that life could always be that easy yet we all know that life is a harsh mistress that punishes everyone.

"It was my fault, because you got hurt, if I just have gone and stepped in sooner then non of this would've happened." Adrien said, pain clear in his eyes and voice. He began shaking more violently as each word left his lips like they were causing him pain. A frown present on my face as I try to think of what the best way is to explain to him what I was thinking at the time.

"Adrien listen and listen closely if you stepped in then you would have gotten shot, then I...then there would have been even more bloodshed today." I said, looking deep into his green eyes that remind me of a forest I once knew. When I thought about it I knew I would've lost my self control and tortured all those that stood in front of me.

"But!" Adrien said, slightly louder, grabbing onto my shoulders tightly but not enough to hurt me. Starring directly at Adrien I placed my hands on his cheeks I calmed down my beating heart before pulling him into a tight embrace.

"No buts, Adrien I'm in charge of keeping you safe till you earned my trust, same with Marinette, and I don't regret anything besides I always keep my word when it comes to this." I replied, interrupting him, letting him go I grabbed his hands and guided him towards my bed so we could sit down.

"Sure, but promise me that you will also look out for yourself too." Adrien said, holding one of my hands in his. I used my other hand and ran it through his blonde hair as a way to calm him down a little more.

"I promise to the sea and...to you, now we should get to bed." I said, while pulling the covers off the bed so I can return to my book and rum.

"Yes, your right, goodnight Gold," Adrien said, while briskly walking to the door.

"Goodnight Adrien," I replied, once the door was closed so he didn't see the smile that snuck onto my features. Picking up my book I turn to my page to finish the chapter before taking a swig of alcohol so I can sleep better. I wonder how Adrien would react when he sees how I truly look? What am I thinking he would react like all the rest... absolutely terrified. Maybe he might be different but that's tomorrow's problem now let's get back to reading.
