ADRIEN'S P.O.VLuke, sprinted to us at full speed grabbing our arms roughly when we heard "Ship approaching," from someone who sounded almost freakishly identical to my best friend Nino. Anyway, Luke dragged us to a bookshelf in what appeared to be the Captain's personal quarters, pulling out a dark blue book, with the title legends of the sea written in golden cursive writing. The bookshelf opened slowly revealing a small space behind the bookshelf, but what shocked me was how clean space was since it seemed like it's not used often by the lack of scrape marks on the floor and the minimal spider webs within the space itself. While I and Marinette were staring at the space worriedly, Luke roughly pushed us in while closing the bookshelf right behind us. I tried to see what he was doing since I still heard more rushed movement around the room but my view was blocked by the books that fit perfectly into the shelf. A sound of a rug being aggressively dropped and moved on the floor echoed loudly outside the space Marionette and I was trapped inside. I turned more to the side as a way to get into a more comfortable position than what I was in before. While doing so I see Marinette shaking in absolute terror, yet I can't get the fact out of my head that she was or is Ladybug who I fell for, worked with and learned with. I mean I did give up on Ladybug a long time ago but finding out that she was Marinette crushed me since I was always with her at school, yet I never noticed the connection, and being rejected so many times I just couldn't take the agony of being heartbroken anymore so I moved on knowing that I didn't stand a chance in winning her heart.
Marinette was still shaking vigorously while my thoughts flew aggressively throughout my mind, I placed my hand gently on her shoulder to try and calm down her vigorous shaking from the current problematic events that have happened so far. Doing so caused her to turn to me with tears pricking her once calm, bluebell, eyes, "Everything will be okay," I whispered, so we don't get discovered but it's to also calm down my own fear-stricken voice in this situation that could turn south at any possible moment if we made the wrong choice in speaking too loud.
"How are you so sure Adrien? How do you know she's not planning on selling us? What if we never see our family again Adrien?!" Marinette whispered trying to hold back her tears and the sobs would hiccup in her throat every now and again in the now deafening silence that surrounds us like a heavy blanket.
"I'm sure cause one of the history assignments was to find an Elizabethan era model and to talk about them you weren't there that week remember. I think you were sick or something?" I said while realising that I did my research on the Captain. Giving myself a hard mental slap across the face for forgetting about it until we are in a dangerous situation. Well done, Adrien, well done if we die now it's all on your stupidity.
"Yeah, I think I remember," Marinette said looking at me, with red, puffy eyes and a small quivering lip. While I still scolded myself mentally from my own idiocy for forgetting all the important information.
"Well I did the captain of the golden spectre, who coincidentally is now holding us captive," I said, recalling all the research I did on her and the sleepless nights since she was shrouded in so much mystery, lore and rumours. Not to mention that I had to travel to multiple libraries in order to find anything and the library that had the most information was extremely sketchy.
"Please tell me more," Marinette whispered, staring at me with interest sparkling in those eyes of hers.
"Let's see the captain was brave, strong, clever, caring, understanding and brutal to those who hurt her crew," I said smiling softly, remembering that she was like a heroine in her own right.
"She kinda sounds like a superhero," Marinette said softly, I nodded my head looking at the bookshelf.
"That's not all. She always had a reason for every attack, kidnapping and thieving she always did these things for the sake of her crew, and never for personal reasons," I replied, I guess I might've developed a crush on her while I was studying her and her heroic ventures.
"Then why is she so mean now Adrien," Marinette said, staring intently at me.
"Well the reason was the person who she cared about the most betrayed her and caused many of her crew to die," I replied softer when the sound footsteps entered the room we were in.
"That's so sad, what was the betrayer's name?" Marinette asked softly trying not to be heard by the person on the other side of the bookshelf.
"The betrayer's name was Blue Bell Beauty no one knows the true name of both the captains accept each other and they vowed never to say each other's names again until one of them was slaughtered or died of natural causes," I replied after the footsteps have left the room and the sound of the door slamming closed with an immense force.
"I wonder if she will trust us enough to tell us her name?" Marinette wondered while staying quiet probably to keep our position safe.
"I wonder that myself," I said trying to hear for anymore approaching footsteps or other possible sounds that indicate life on the other side of this confined space.
"Hey, Chat...uh...Adrien do you still like Ladybug or me anymore?" I froze not knowing what to do since I decided that it would've been better to break things off a while back. I continued to stay frozen just staring at her that was until footsteps approached the bookshelf.
