ADRIEN P.O.V

Before my eyes I saw the love of my life was still with a cutlass piercing through her heart. I froze, the color in my face soon disappeared, I could hear my heartbeat thumping in my skull. I watched as the sword was pulled from her now collapsed body, tears pricked my eyes threatening to fall.

Thoughts thundered in my skull:

'why am I so useless'

'I'm supposed to be a hero then why couldn't I save her'

'why must the most wonderful people in my life leave me'

'I'm nothing but a curse'

Tears became rivers on my face as I stare at the stained wooden deck which had once been a place of fond memories. Now reduced to nothing more than a horrific reminder of the one casualty that was never meant to happen.

"My prince can now finally love me now that the curse she placed on you is gone," Cleo states, as she grabs my chin slowly lifting my head to see tears pouring from my eyes.

"How can you be so cruel?" I asked but my voice was only just above a whisper as I try to blink away the tears that cover my vision.

"It's quite simple I truly love you, and she was in my way even though she was the one who was planning on keeping you safe from assassins that were sent to kill you," Cleo purred out, "but I could do so much better than her." A wicked smile was plastered on her face like she just committed the perfect crime.

"She was to protect me from people who were trying to kill me." I whispered to myself before letting the last tear I had slide down my face.

"That's what I just said weren't you listening." Cleo stated, with an annoyed look and snarky voice.

"She saved me... She spared your life twice yet you still kill her without mercy!" I remarked, my voice going louder at the end knowing that it was my fault for not letting my love do what she does best.

"So? I'm a princess making me automatically safe from harm," Cleo responded, with a flip of her bleached, straw hair.

"Just because you're royalty doesn't mean that your are safe from harm!" Anger boils through my blood as I throw daggers at her with my eyes. My jaw clenched tightly as I try and bite back many foul comments I would like to spit at her.

"It seems as though you are still under her spell? Maybe it takes a few hours to wear off? Oh well I can wait I want to make sure that beast is dead," she questioned, loudly as she sat down right in front of me with her wicked smile growing more towards the end of sentence.

"I wasn't under any spell! I fell for her naturally! She was the light in my life that you could never be! I show you kindness because I thought it would be enough to change your mind!" I shout, while trying to escape the rope that bind me.

A wicked laugh erupted in the air.

Darkness covered my vision.

A blood curdling scream broke through the air.

Splashing could be heard in front of me.

Then silence.

Utter silence.

Slowly the darkness began to lift from my vision, seagulls could be heard once more. Cleo is now bleeding out on the ground with her head separate from her body with the look of horror etched onto her features. Standing over the now dead princess is my... love with a cutlass pristine, a hole straight threw her heart and blood stained clothing. Slowly she turns to me and gives me a smile before a black mist with what seems to be skeleton hands surrounded her body completely like a cocoon making it impossible to see her face.

The mist started to move towards me at an almost staggering pace but the closer it came to me the thinner it became. It stopped moving just in front of my face and now the mist was completely gone and replaced with (Y/N) smiling her wondrous smile, her hair flowing in the soft breeze, but what caught my was the large gaping hole where her heart was. Tears flowed constantly but this time not out of sadness but instead happiness that (Y/N) was alive and breathing right in front of me smiling like nothing was the matter. My restraints were cut free as soon as the rope fell to the ground I pulled (Y/N) into a tight hug fearing that if I let go she will disappear from my grasp and there won't be any trace of her.

We stayed how we were with her running one of her delicate and soft hands through my hair as she told me "I'm right here, and I'll stay right here." I calmed down enough to slowly release her from my grasp I looked into those (E/C) eyes that I'm so fond of, those rosy cheeks that match her lips perfectly, and her voice that sends chills down my spine by how velvet it sounds. As I continue to stare at her, loving each and every part of her she came closer and said, "I'm sorry I scared you my North Star," before she pulled away only to come back and give a kiss on my lips. I was shocked at first but soon I joined in the kiss that was full of love and longing, it felt like it was only us no one else, nothing matter at this moment it was just us.

We soon broke apart for the air that both of us needed. Once I caught my breathe I asked "Please (Y/N) don't ever leave me I need you in my life,"

"North Star I won't ever leave you in this cruel world alone," She replied, with a soft smile on her features and a hand on my cheek.

I give her one more smile before bringing her into another kiss to show her how much I need her, my sweet kitten I...
