I realized that he had the same promise ring he gave me. I hugged him and he lifted me up in the air as he kissed me. After that, we just walked around the beach until it was starting to get dark. We knew It would take 45 minutes to get home, so we decided to get on our way. Neither of us were wearing shoes. but when we stepped into the parking lot, our song started playing, and so we danced. It reminded me of our 9th grade homecoming, It was the first time we had danced together. I was wearing a flowy purple dress and he was wearing suit pants and button up shirt the same shade of purple. We danced as the night went on and had the best time ever. Cole held my hand, swayed me onto the parking lot, and spun me around. We danced through the song together and when it ended, He kissed me on the cheek and helped me into the car. As we were driving, we just talked and laughed like best friends do. Around 8 I started to doze off as he was telling me a story. A couple minutes later, I guess he thought I was asleep and so he was singing our song very quietly as if a lullaby, but to himself. It was really cute because he wasn't a bad singer, but he WAS NOT a good singer. I sat up a little straighter and started singing with him. He looked a little embarrassed at first, but I held his hand so he knew everything was okay. All of a sudden, there was a loud siren and we both stopped singing, startled, faster than light I saw a car hurling in our direction followed by a police car. That's the last thing I remember.
