I slumped down in my 1st period seat and waited for class to begin. I hate my 1st period class. Math. I am definitely not good at math, and I never will be. I just don't understand why everything in that class is so complicated. I have a C in that class because I have no idea what is going on. I was so relieved when the hour and a half was over. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th blurred by faster than usual, and I was more than happy to go home. I got into Coles car and waited for him to come. It was only around 30 seconds before we were both in the car and getting on the road. "Hey baby?" Cole said once we were almost to my house. "Yeah Cole, what's up?" I was shocked because he sounded a little nervous. "I don't really want to go home for a while. Is it okay if I come over to your house? My parents got into a really big fight last night and I'm not ready to go home yet." I wasn't very surprised. This isn't the first time that Cole hasn't wanted to go home. "Of course you can come over." I tried to give him my most sincere smile, but inside I was nervous for him. He doesn't have a very well put together family. His mom and dad got divorced in the 8th grade and ever since his mom is a total wreck. She lost her job, hasn't hardly ever been home, and when she is home, she is drunk. Coles dad is a lawyer and he sends Cole and his mom a little bit of money each month but not enough to keep them going, especially when his mom is always buying alcohol. His dad is living in New York City and doesn't come home much. When he does come home, He gets in big fights smashing glass and screaming and only stays for usually a day or two. the first time they fought, it was in 9th grade.
***********FLASHBACK***********
Cole ran across the block at 11:00 at night and came over to my house. It was on a Friday night, and Blake and I were watching a scary movie. Cole burst into the house crying and it scared the crap out of us. He told us what happened, and asked if he could sleep over at our house. I remember that night distinctly. His eyes were all red from crying and his heart was beating so fast. Blake got him some food and I hugged him and wouldn't let him go as we watched his favorite movie. He slept in the room across from mine. It used to be Blakes room, but he moved into my parents when they died in a car crash 10 years ago and that was currently a guest room. His parents fought more and more, so the guest room became Coles room. He brought some of his things over because he was scared and never wanted to go back.
**********END OF FLASHBACK******
