(continuation of five)
It had been years since Javi had seen his lovely fiance. Years since they had agreed to marry each other. Years since he had placed his hand on her soft skin.
For years, Javi had more frequent 'what if' questions popping in his head.
What if she's dead?
That one was the most frequent.
Despite her advances, he had denied Kate's affections, he still wanted to be faithful to his fiance, even if she was dead. Which she wasn't. She couldn't be.
The last time he had seen his girl was less than magical. It was a tragic night, the night Javier's father had died. David had gotten so mad at Javier for not being there, he had blamed Javier's fiance, saying she was dragging him down, it had been almost a year since he had connected with his family and it had been only a few weeks since he proposed to his fiance, whose whereabouts were unknown.
What David had said to Javier about his fiance, only upset him even more and he began throwing punches, kicks, you name it. They had fought almost every time they saw each other, which was one of the main reasons Javier tried to stay away from his family, also because they had just reminded him of horrible memories, he didn't feel like a son, a brother, or an uncle. He felt like a disappointment, a waste of space.
They'd be better off, he'd often think to himself.
(Y/N) had run out after she heard the fighting between the two brothers, attempting to make them stop.
In retaliation, David had aimlessly shoved her back, knocking her down to her knees. She was so distraught by this action from her own future brother-in-law, she pushed herself up from the gravel and began to run. Despite how much pain she was in, the blood and small rocks stuck in her skin, she kept running.
That was how she was, running away from every problem, no matter how big or how small, she couldn't handle conflict, yet, she always found herself in the middle of it.
Javier couldn't let her go out on her own, but he was pinned down at the wrists by his brother, his nails digging into the skin of his wrist.
"Leave her," David demanded, his ungroomed nails still digging into Javier's skin. "She'll come back, she always does."
But little did they both know, it would be the last of her. It would be the last of everything. The last of love, family, and intimacy. It was all thrown to the wind.
All night, Javier had worried about his fiance, but David made sure he didn't run after her.
"She needs to learn that running away from shit won't fix anything,"
Javier's blood was beginning to boil, his fists tightened at the sound of David's snarky voice. "Oh yeah? And what do you know about her? You haven't even had a conversation with her that hadn't ended in a screaming match between the two of you."
David chuckled, placing his hand on his brother's back. "I know a lot more about her than you think,"
Javier decided it was time to let it go, he shouldn't let David get to him. That's what he wanted, to make Javier angry, David always got a good laugh when he'd get a rise out of him.
I guess that's what it's like to be the younger brother, the punching bag.
"Do you think if she's alive, she'd think about me too?" Javier snapped himself out of his thoughts and looked over at the brunette girl sitting beside him.
