Chapter 4

          "It's alright, your safe, no more crying little one... you're going to be fine" stated Mrs. Anne as she pulled me into her chest and hugged me tightly, the red glowing light vanished instantly as Mrs. Anne hugged me tightly and whispered nice things into my ear, my arms slowly wrapped around Mrs. Anne's body and I hugged back, crying Into her shoulder. After a while my sobs became little sniffles and most of my tears had stopped, my ears were low and my eyes were closed as I welcomed the warmth and comfort of Mrs. Anne but with any movement I flinched and squirmed as she picked me up and held me "shhh, rest little one, you're safe" cooed Miss. Anne as I grumbled but laid my head back onto her shoulder and after a few minutes I was asleep. "Well, lord Hitachi? What do you plan on doing with the boy?" Asked Mrs. Anne as lord Hitachi stared at my face for a few moments before sighing "I suppose you should watch him until I figure out what to do, keep him in your sights at all times and make sure he doesn't get hurt anymore" stated Lord Hitachi as he and the royal guard left leaving Mrs. Anne in the basement. "welcome home son" whispered Mrs. Anne as she walked up the basement stairs then entered a room at the far end of the hallway, she laid me down and covered me up before going to her own bedroom and went to sleep as well. I awoke the next morning and grumbled while sitting up, my whole body ached and my foot hurt worse than it did yesterday, I caught the sweet scent of freshly cooked food and tensed up while quickly glancing around at the unfamiliar room, "where am I?" I thought to myself as I limped to the door and opened it slightly as I peeked out into the empty hallway, my stomach growled but I ignored the sickening pain from my stomach as I quietly limped down the hall and peeked into an open room where dozens of tables were filled with plates of food and people chatting and eating, "What is that thing!?" Exclaimed a voice as I flinched and glanced over to a far table where a man was standing and pointing at me, the whole place stopped and turned they head to my direction then broke into questions as a few people walked towards me, I trembled and limped back down the hallway and back into the room I came out of, I hid under the bed and tried to figure out what the hell happened yesterday "little one, come out it's alright, those people didn't mean to scare you" stated Mrs. Anne as she knelt beside the bed and patted the floor, I hesitantly crawled forward and out a bit from under the bed but dove back under once Mrs. Anne had ruffled my hair, I ignore Mrs. Anne as she tried to get me out from under the bed but I curled up further under the bed and brushed my tail fur making sure my tail was out of her reach while I petted my tail. After a few minutes Mrs. Anne sighed and left the room, finally leaving me alone to think about the events as they slowly came back to me, I gasped and quickly crawled out from under the bed and limped to a dresser that was at the side of the room, I pulled open in of the drawers and rummaged through the many assortments of clothes till I found a black baggy tunic and a greyish set of pants, I quickly put the clothes on and found my cloak that was ripped and torn, I growled and tossed it back to the ground "Max's cloak got ripped" I stated in a growl and bit back my sadness as I shuffled through the closet beside the dresser, In my search I found a similar green cloak but it was missing the golden embroidery symbols and designs on it. I pulled the cloak around me then pulled the hood over my head, I quietly limped down the hallway once again and quickly made my way through the crowded room full of people and tables and slipped out the front door, I sighed and walked down the street and headed for the direction of the school, I limped down the schools halls until I got to class A, I took a deep breath before quietly sliding open the door and limping over to the empty seat at the corner of the room that the teacher had set out for me, my ears burned as all eyes turned towards me but the teacher continued speaking but quickly glanced up at me while continuing her lesson. "We will continue where we left off yesterday" stated the teacher as she pulled up the slide show "Zorie told his people about how the gods visited him in his dreams and brought a token of gratitude that Zorie happily showed his people, but what he didn't tell them was that he was going to choose one of them to lead beside him, one to be his and his only. Months passed and Zorie continued his search for the one person, and at a ball, he hosted he finally found her... a young woman named Anneaberius. Zorie told her about how the gods came into his dreams to find the person he wanted to lead with him, Zorie explained that she was the one he wanted and he promised to give her anything she wanted, Anneaberius was shocked but happily agreed to be Zories one and only, together they ruled the land." Stated the teacher as she clicked onto the next image and I leaned forward, I was intrigued by the slightest things that the teacher spoke about, I didn't know much about the world I was in, nor did I understand how it came to be but I snapped out of my daze as the teacher started talking again "Zorie  our first Leader or better referred to as the King, and his wife our first Queen. Queen Anneaberius presented to their people a young Infant, Zorie and Anneaberius had produced a healthy Offspring who would grow up to be the prince of the land, The young prince grew up and was taught many things that have been lost to us today... but by the age of 10 The young Prince was proving to become a great future leader, However one night disaster struck." added the teacher as another image appeared on the screen and half the class gasped including me "Our once prosperous land was attacked by ruthless bloodthirsty killers who were seeking power that our great leaders possess, and that power was Magic. A war broke out overnight and killed many of our people during this overnight war, Zorie and Anneaberius did their best to protect their people while their young son watched as the war unfolded before his very eyes while he also fought alongside his parents, once the bloodthirsty killers made their way to the capital they attacked Zorie and Anneaberius as well as the young prince, once the battle was over and every single bloodthirsty killer was killed Zorie turned to see his wife in a panic, the young prince was nowhere to be found, search parties were sent out and months passed, and still no sign of the Prince. King Zorie grew angry at himself for not being able to protect his family and his people from the murderous killers, The death of the Young Prince was devastating to the capitol and led to King Zories death and the fall of the capitol. After a few years the rise of our second leader Kouroushi led our people back into the way we were before, our land was thriving again." Stated the teacher as the bell rang and the students all stood up and exited the classroom, I stayed in the seat taking in all the information I had just learned "do you have a lunch to eat?" Asked the teacher as she walked to the desk and stood in front of it "umm...yeah, thank you for letting me listen into the lesson it was great" I stated as I limped from the seat and to the door "Why is it just this lesson? Haven't you heard of the story before" asked the teacher as I turned around and shook my head "this is my first time hearing this much of the story, it's really fascinating" I said as I exited the classroom and limped down the hallway and out of the school through the back door since I now didn't trust the front doors of the school. I ignored my stomach pain as it reminded that it was empty while I limped as fast as I could to the willow tree which I was glad that the tree was empty and waiting for me to sit on my favorite branch, I carefully scurried up the tree and rested on the largest branch that rested on the middle level and made a great place to lay down and stare at the sky through the parting in the leaves, I rested my head on the back and stared at the leaves that swayed as the wind flowed through the veins of the tree. "It's just like the first time I arrived here in this land... peaceful, quiet...and calming" I stated as tears lined my eyes again and I let out a shaky breath as I wiped my tears away "Max...why won't you tell me about my past? Why can't I remember anything about my so-called past life... Who was I?" I whispered as I pulled my knees to my chest and buried my face into my knees. "You will figure it out in time Ollie, Everything will play out you just have to be patient" stated Max as I shook my head "I don't want to wait anymore...I wanna go back to the realm, I can't take this anymore" I said in barely a whisper as my voice tightened up and more tears fell from my eyes "Your people need you there Ollie, besides I'll be right beside you along the way" added max as I trembled "I'm so lonely..." I cried as I let the sadness I held in for so long out, my silent cries turned into muffled sobs and my tears I held in just burst out and streamed down my face "Little one! Are you here!?" Asked a panicked voice as it rang out through the park, I flinched and peeked through the branches and saw Miss. Anne frantically looking around the park, I hadn't noticed it was almost dark outside and the air was freezing cold, my body yearned for comfort and I slowly climbed down the willow tree and said the one thing on my mind, a name that seemed so familiar to me "Anneaberius..." Mrs. Anne froze once that name left my mouth then she snapped around and dashed to me, She embracing me in a tight but comforting hug, more tears filled and streamed from my eyes as I hugged her tightly "Never run off again! You little troublemaker" cried Mrs. Anne in a relieved and motherly tone as she scolded me "I don't want to lose you again Otari!" She cried as tears trickled from her eyes as she hugged me tighter like I was going to just disappear, I tensed up and trembled at the name she called me, images flooded into my head and kept replaying and replaying. I jolted awake and screamed while grabbing my head as I was trembling, the door burst open and I screamed again only to get pulled into a tight hug, Mrs. Anne's scent filled my nose and instantly calmed me "you're running a fever" stated Mrs. Anne as she took a cloth and dipped it in the bucket of water next to the bed then squeezed it out and placed it on my head, my breathing was shallow and shaky, my eyes were bloodshot red, I was also throwing up every few hours, and My fever was very high. Mrs. Anne always came to check up on me when I screamed or cried out, she was beside me as I battled this sickness for over a week. The smell of freshly cooked food wafted through the air and filled my nose, I placed my hand to my eyes and rubbed the sleep from them, I slowly sat up and whimpered as it hurt to move my injured foot but Ignoring the pain I placed my feet on the floor and stretched before I stood and limped to the door and wrapped my cloak around me. I quietly limped down the hallway following the smell of the delicious food, I peeked around the corner of the hallway to see the room full of tables empty, my stomach growled and my ears drooped lower as I cautiously rounded the corner and into an empty kitchen. My head tilted to the side as I went further into the kitchen and saw four plates sitting at the table waiting to be filled with food, my ears twitched as I heard the faint sizzling of food cooking "Little One?" Called Mrs. Anne's voice as it held a bit of panic as she called out again "Here" I said as I yawned and glanced up at Mrs. Anne as she sighed in relief as she entered the kitchen "how are you feeling Ollie?" asked Mrs. Anne as she bent down in front of me and brushed my long bangs from my face "I'm feeling Okay...but hungry" I said as my tail twitched behind me "food will be done shortly, how about you sit down, we will be having some guests joining us for breakfast" said Mrs. Anne as she stirred a pot on the stove and watched me as I limped over and sat at the chair closest to the wall, I lightly kicked my feet underneath the table as I rested my head on the table and patiently waited for the food to be done. I adjusted the hood on the cloak so that it blocked out the light and covered my eyes, A bell rang and echoed through the air as my ears twitched and I lifted my head to see who it was, I dashed to Mrs. Anne's side and hid behind her as a low growl emitted from my throat, Mrs. Anne glanced down at me then glanced over to Lord Hitachi, The royal guard known as Haze, and a boy a bit older than me. "It's alright Ollie, they're not going to hurt you, they're joining us for breakfast" stated Mrs. Anne as she pulled out another plate and set it on the table as I limped right beside her "Ollie, it's alright you can sit down, along with you three take a seat" stated Mrs. Anne as I grumbled to myself but returned to the seat I was at before as the boy sat across from me as lord Hitachi sat at the furthest end and the royal guard sat next to me. I kept in my growls of disapproval as we all waited for the food to be finished, I buried my head into my arms and ignored the stares for the three guest, the boy older than me kicked me from under the table and I yelped as he kicked my hurt foot, I shot out of my seat and raised my foot above the ground as I glared at the boy for a few moments then limped out of the room and back to the room woke up in. I could hear Lord Hitachi's muffled voice as he scolded the boy, as well as Mrs. Anne, after a while someone knocked on the door I had shut while coming in the room, and before I could answer the door opened and the boy older than me was standing in the doorway with an annoyed but guilty look in his eyes. I growled as I looked back to the wall in front of me, I was sitting crisscrossed on the bed and facing away from the door, I had pulled the blanket from the bed over me while I still wore the cloak "look, I'm sorry about kicking you I really didn't mean too, and I didn't mean to hurt you" stated the boy as he walked further into the room and stopped a few feet from the bed, I sighed and turned around and casting my gaze to look the boy in the eyes "I forgive you" I stated as I went to look back at the wall but the boys voice stopped me "Your that kid that keeps sneaking into the class during lessons right? Oh and Breakfast is ready if you wanna come and eat" asked the boy as he gazes me a curious stare as I stood up and kept pressure off my foot "Your correct, I do sneak into the school occasionally, and your that kid that cold-shouldered me the other day right?" I stated with a bored look on my face until my stomach growled and my ears lowered "when's the last time you ate something"?" Asked the boy as I thought back to when I was attacked by the royal guards "umm.... honestly I have no idea" I mumbled as the boy sighed and scooped me up into his arms and carried me out of the room, I screamed and struggled in the boys arms as he cast his gaze down to me in his arms but just ignored me as I panicked in his arms "P-Put me down! Let go!" I yelled as my tail thrashed from side to side before whacking the boy in the face, he cursed silently and caught my tail as it was just about to hit him in the face again, he set me down as we entered into the kitchen but kept my tail in his hands, I shivered as he brushed his hand over my tails and he softly scratched the fluffy end, my ears drooped as his soft and gentle touch somewhat calmed me, once he released my tail I limped back to the seat beside the royal guard who cast a weird gaze at the boy before looking at me with the same expression.
