You sat there by the window staring out, as the rain fell calmly.
You wondered many times where was that man? That man you came to love? That man who fought, fought for you, for his brother, for his friends...

He had been out, gone for days, lost in the drink.

He sat there, drink after, after drink, after drink. Wondering why him? Why his brother? Why his friends? Why you??

Yes you, the woman he met in an unusual circumstance. The woman who fought at his side, the one who took him as he was... broken.

Indeed the woman he loved, Loved?? How could he have forgotten?? This love he once felt?

Was it the life he led? The hunts, the kills, the drinks. Yes, it all caught up with him and made him forget...

He had you, in his arms, in his bed, in his mind, in his heart. But as he came to realize how much he truly missed, he began to drink more and more. But then, he suddenly came to a halt... he looks down, at his now empty glass and saw the reflection of the woman he loved and thus tossed it and out the door he went.

Walked in, expecting to find her there, find her by the window looking out into the rain, but she was not there.

No, she was no where in sight.

He searched and searched but alas she was no longer present in his home.

It was too late, she, as the time passed that night, waiting for the man she loved to come home, did not and so, she finally took a difficult path. A path where there is no turning back, not for one who has forgotten about her and thus, she collected a few personal items and walked away.

"My dearest, I've come to love you so much but I am no longer able to keep this happy facade. It is much to painful to see how you've thrown yourself away, under these circumstances one would understand but there is so much one could take.

I leave, but I take what you've given me.

These years were wonderful, much to behold and I leave with the greatest memories of you. Do not think I've come to hate you, no, I could never but it is time I think for my future.

It pains me to leave with never seeing those eyes again, and I hope one day you'll forgive me. I've tried, but over time this has become too much for even myself, this life isn't mine alone anymore and it is not one I wish to continue in either.

I leave, yes, but with a gift your love implanted within me, and I will keep it safe from harm. When I look into it, I will think of you and it will remain the greatest gift that was bestowed upon me."

Those were the words he came to read on a piece of paper she left behind.

She was gone, she had left him.

Left him like so many in his life. No, not like them, this was his doing, he forgot her, he left her.
Alone, scared, sad and he could not bring himself to forgive his sins.

Why should he?? He had someone who loved him, someone who worried about him, someone who made him a better person but now she was gone, gone for how long afterwards?

Should he look for her?? Should he ask her to return home? As much as he wanted to, as much as he thought of it throughly, he came to the conclusion that he did not deserve her. Her love, her warmth, her kindness, her forgiveness, her light.
