Julie tried to stop Tom from going to his dad's house but he was determined to get his daughter. No matter what. So she decided to go with him. To stop any sense of a murder.
"They will be alright." Austin said to me. We both watch them drive away in the distance. "Julie knows his father well. Plus it would be good for her. To pay her respects."
"That's good." I replied to him. Austin over his hand to me. I looked with uncertainty.
"Let's be off. To our new home." Austin smiled.
"Our?" I said.
"YOURS! I-I MEAN UGH~" Austin looked away. Embarrassed. It's cute and funny. Austin offer his hand but I took his whole arm. I hold onto him tight. Hoping to catch his warmth. Austin face turned red.
"Hahaha I'm joking. You will be taking care of me so I don't mind us sharing a home." I looked up to him and smiled. "Show the way." Austin was dazed but came back to earth and lead the way.
The house was beautiful. It's a traditional home. That kind I didn't expect. Has a small front yard and a brick fence and brick mailbox. A path to the front door. Or should I say sliding wooden door. I slide the door and entered the house. My home. It looked brand new. They did a good job cleaning up the place. Austin took off his shoes and put them aside. He kneeled down to help me. Why do I feel so embarrassed by it. And what's worst. Time slowed down. It just made it more romantic. Or completely agonizing. This is where I start to pray for this time to move on.
Austin noticed my concern. He smiled and place my shoes next to his. He made his way into....our home. I love watching him walk away. His back. His shoulders. Very Sexy. Ah shit. My hormones are going out of control.
"Need a glass of water or tea? I'll make whatever you like." Austin asked.
"Yes! Its very hot in here. Anything cold is fine! Imma open some windows!" I tried to keep myself together with him around. Being around him makes my body hot.
I began to realized that I don't really need to open a window. I slide the door and the cold breeze sets in the living room. Thats better. I glanced around the beautiful porch. Its a view I can enjoy.
Austin came in with a tray of two glasses and some tea. He set them down the small table and started to pour my glass. I sat down and thanked him. Then we talked. He told me about his job and what he actually does. He did tried to get in a community collage but things happened so he decided to just stay a farmhand.
Then we talked about the memorial that's coming up soon.
"Its going to be at the beach. We usually have a festival coming up so the council decided to have the festival and the memorial at the same day. To help the family through tough times." Austin said.
"I've never been to the beach. Or areas from here. Can we go now?" Chris insisted.
"Now?" Austin said. "You sure?"
Chris nodded. Austin sighed. And started to get ready. "I'll ask for a car."
♥︎
I've never seen a place like this before. Ships sailing. People fishing at the docks. And others setting up the memorial/festival. And of course the lighthouse in the distance. Thats something that you can't miss.
"This place is amazing!" I said to Austin. The breeze felt good too. "Lets walk in the sand barefooted!"
"No wait, Chris. I don't think that's a good idea." Austin said, trying to stop him. But it was already too late.
"OW!! HOT HOT HOT HOT!" Chris put his shoes back on.
Austin walked to Chris. "Its still the summer. Usually people avoid taking off their shoes. When its close to fall, that's when its really save."
"Thanks for explaining." Chris said. Feeling defeated.
"HEY!" We both looked to the direction of the voice calling to us. Its Geana. He ran towards us and took a breath. She smiled. "I didn't think to see you two here so soon. On a date?"
I blushed. "No!" I paused and looked at Austin. He suddenly looked depressed.
"Haha lighten up. I was just kidding. Want to have some snowcones? The heat is killing the air here."
"Sure."
We walked to a nice decorated shop and sat down on the table with good shade. Geana ordered for us and came back with the snowcones. After the whole scene at Tom's house, Geana went to the beach to see someone. Someone she likes.
"My mom doesn't know about it and I'm keep it that way. She thinks I'm going out with this guy that sells seafood. But I'm not." Geana said.
"Why does your mom bother you about going out and the 'right guy'." I asked.
"She wants grandkids." Geana explained her situation. She also said her mother is super old fashioned. Like Tom's dad. "She won't understand. She can't understand. Thats the problem I have with her. She wants me to marry a man with good income." She signed. "It gets really annoying."
"Must really suck. Having her breathing your neck." She slapped the table.
"You get me! Here!" She slides her snowcone. "Have my special snowcone." She smiled.
I looked at it. Whats special about it? Whats in it?
"Um...should I be worried?" Chris said.
"Nope!" She smiled at me. Then she turn her head and smiled softly. She was looking at at girl who was making a snowcone for a couple. She had bright blonde hair with blue and purple stripes. Geana kept looking at her. "Its just special." I get it now.
Geana has a crush on the snowcone lady. Thats very interesting.
I looked over Austin and noticed he was looking at me. I blushed and ate my snowcone. Its getting old but I still like it when he looks at me. Dork.
We sat their for about an hour and started walking around the docks. Austin was keeping a close watch. He gets nervous when I get close to the water.
I enjoy this place. Then I spotted a building at the top of the hill. I point at it and Austin told me its a temple. "It was built long ago. And it still stands til this day. It has a special history."
"Lets go check it out!" Chris said.
"Its a long walk. You should you can make it?" Geana said. Chris was determined so they all walked up the hill. Not knowing whats to come.
