Austin POV

I walked into his house. The lights were off where ever I look. The house looked like a mess. It's as though a storm went in the house. I slowly walked around the house. And once my eyes were set on the living room, I was blown away by how it looked. It closely resembles it did before five years ago. This is bad.

I looked away and moved forward. Once I reached the kitchen, Tom was sitting on his chair. Empty beer bottles were left on the floor and the counter. I could smell the alcohol in the air. His been drinking.

Tom was leaning on his elbows on the table. His hand covering his eyes. I could tell he's been crying by the dried tears on his cheek. It looks as though he's been crying all day. And to think I left him alone. I'm an idiot. If only I could piece it all together sooner...but I was too afraid.

"Hey...Tom." I said awkwardly. He didn't respond. I casually walked into the kitchen. Even though their were beer bottles in my way. "I see you remodeled your living room. Looks...um...unique. I'm not really into it but if it suits you–"

"I know you already know." Tom broke his silence. "Stop it." I hold myself back a bit.

"I'm..." I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry." Tom looked up at me. His eyes were red. I pulled up a chair and sat across from Tom. The way he looked made me want to cry for him. But he won't like that. "Why haven't you said anything?" I told him. "I'm here aren't I?"

"Like you'd understand." Tom said coldly. His words left a sharp pain in my chest.

"That doesn't mean I wouldn't help. Tom. I'm your friend."

"Ha! Yeah right!" Tom got up from his chair. He stumbled a bit but he hold himself against the table. I hate seeing him like this. "Your..." He held his hand on his head, suffering from a headache. "Your just a homeless omega who has never been in love."

I quickly got up. "Your wrong! I–" I held my tongue. I wanted to tell him about Chris. That how I want to be with him. That I...love him. But how can you love someone you just met. And do such lustful things. What's wrong with me.

Tom held himself in place. He was waiting for me to finished my sentence. But I couldn't. "Leave me." Tom said coldly.

"I can't–"

"LEAVE!" Tom exclaimed. The kitchen went silent. So with regret, I started to leave. I feel... so pathetic. As I went outside I ran into Geana, Timothy, and Maya. It would appear that they didn't want to come inside. And with the way they look now...they already know.

"We weren't sure if it was ok to come inside." Geana said with concern. "How is he?"

"Like he always is. Complicated." I said to her.

"Is he going to tell Abby?" Timothy said. I shrugged my shoulders. "I hope soon he does."

"But no need to rush it. It's harder for the parent to explain such dreadful things. Especially to a nine year old child." Maya replied to her son. "Do you know how hard it was for me to tell you both about your father?" Maya continued.

The two looked at each other and knew what she was talking about. "But that was different. We were in highschool...poor Abby. She...just too young." Geana said.
