Part 16

-Natsu-

Lucy had been quiet today which was weird, she hadn't even spoken to me or happy while she worked in her room of this castle. I decided to go see her, when I went into her room she looked up at me and smiled but went back to writing something in a book, eyes serious which made it even more of a concern for me to see the blonde look like this, something was on her mind

"Luce, what's wrong?"

I sat on the desk beside her

"I looked into what you said about the guards and higher power and I think you're onto something, after watching the guards I found something strange about the way they reacted to me asking about the murder, almost as if they had something to hide"

I nodded, smiling at how serious she was taking this mission. She wasn't the kind to give up on anything quickly and she'd always make it perfect. When I came back from my trip the guild was in shambles and Levy had been thought to be dead but wasn't, Lucy wasn't handling it too well but she was smart.

"Princess, I have found something I thought you'd like to know about! Punish me for it"

I jumped and turned to see Virgo, the chains on her wrists and maid dress as usual

"What is it?"

"You asked me to watch the guards from afar and I have"

She nodded and looked at Virgo, waiting for her to continue

"Today they mentioned you, they said you were hot but you were looking to into this so you may be next if they think you figure something out"

She nodded and patted Virgos head causing the spirit to giggle

"Thank you Virgo, you may go back if you need to and please tell Loke and Aries congratulations"

the pink headed girl left and I looked at my Lucy, she sighed and sat back down

"So, if they said I may be next...that doesn't put anyone a suspect, Natsu...can I use myself as bait this round?"

I hated the thought of that, what if she got hurt. I'd kill anyone who ever hurt MY Lucy but I relaxed knowing she'd have a foolproof plan and now I was wondering why she didn't bring along Erza and the ice princess like we used to, almost like she was distancing herself from everyone but me and Happy.

"Plan first Luce, please...You know I'd go crazy if you were hurt"

She nodded

"I'll come up with it"

She kissed my cheek which made me blush, I loved her a lot and she knew that, I'd loved her since the very beginning. Almost losing her so many times was what made me know that I would never let her go. I decided to go back to my room, I saw the blue cat was eating

"Natsuuuuu"

he called out when he hugged me

"Happy~"

he laughed and I sat down, laying my hand on the scarf and closing my eyes. With Igneel dead I couldn't focus on too much at once so I trained, I missed my father but I was told to not cry and be strong so I was.

"Hows Luce?"

I sighed, remembering what she asked of me

"Not bad, she's amazing and smart and perfect"

He laughed and laid on my head

"Your in loooovvveeee"

I started laughing and blushing when she rushed in, panting a little

"I have a plan. Good happy you're awake"

The blue cat sat on the bed now but stayed quiet

"Okay, so if I'm the bait I can lure the killer or killers but I can't use my keys or that'll disturb Loke and Aries, using Urano Metria takes a lot out of me so my only choice is my whip as protection, I want you as backup if needed okay?"

I hated that idea but knew she wouldn't change her mind and she'd call my name if she needed help, no matter how small I could hear it as long as she needed me, she knew it as well as I did I'd never let her get hurt again, never.

"fine."

"Natsu, I know you're worried but I can handle it. I love you but please trust me okay?"

I sighed, I knew she had me wrapped around her finger and I loved it, she was so surprising 

"Okayyy"

she smiled and left the room, I hated watching her leave, no matter where it was or why I just hated not being by her side no matter what happened.
