Chapter 6. Workout

I was awoken by loud banging on my door. I got up and was greeted by a smiling Liz.
"What?" I groaned out as she pushed through the door into my closet.

"We're going to the gym!" She chirped as she scrimmaged through my clothes.

"It's like 5." She looked at me with annoyance then rolled her eyes.

"It's 12." I nodded and she continued."What were you doing all night?" I thought about it then remembered my conversation with Kaius.

"Well, I was tossing and turning for three hours straight so I went downstairs for food."

"Of course." She cut me off I rolled my eyes and continued.

"I saw Kaius and we just chatted." I spoke as I made my way towards my bed.

"WHAT?" I winced at her tone." Weren't you the one most worried about him?" I nodded."Then what changed?" She asked as she came out the closet with my gym attire.

"When I came downstairs he was taking his meds to get rid of his 'psychotic' senses. He told me he doesn't want anyone judging him or starting up more rumors." I scoffed as I put air quotes on psychotic."To me he seems normal just certain things set him off. But I do really feel bad about believing in the rumors." I sighed as I picked up the clothes and headed towards the bathroom.

"Wow." Was all Liz said as she walked out the room.

I put on my black and grey Nike workout outfit and jogged after Liz.

After being lost for thirty minutes we found the gym.

And fuck was it big. There was hell of a lot of people in here. We walked over to the weights and started our sets.

"Damn! So y'all just gonna leave us like that." Laughed Aj as she and Rosie walked over to us. Me and Liz looked at each other than silently giggled.

Once they reached us we started a conversation as we moved up the stairs to the treadmills. I picked the one on the far end next to the railing. As I was jogging I glanced to my right and saw Kaius putting some type of powder in his mouth. A smile formed on my lips as I stopped the machine and made my way down the stairs.

"Where ya going?" Called out Rosie.

"To talk to someone. I'll be back."

I walked over to Kaius but he didn't see me and started taking off his shirt.

I stared memorized by tattoos. He finally noticed me and snapped me out of my trance.

"Hey, do you need something?" I shook my head frantically.

"I just wanted to say hi, Mr. Hades."

"Oh well I'm gonna do my workout. Can you talk to me while I do it?" I nodded my head yes. He smiled and set up the bar and proceeded to do chin ups.

I stood there gawking as his muscular tatted back flexed as he effortlessly pulled himself up.

"You gonna talk or stare? Because I'm ok with the staring I just wanna make sure." I blushed and walked towards him.

"Are you really from Italy?" He nodded his head yes.

"I was born here and lived here for most of my life but I moved to Compton for seven years. And travelled all around the world."

"Wow really? I've only been to two places in my life. LA and Russia. Oh and here." I giggled. He dropped down from the bar and stared intensely in my eyes.

"I will bring you wherever you wanna go for the way you treated me last night. Thank you by the way." I blushed once again at his soft spoken words.

"Thank you and no problem. Wait I have another question." He nodded his head as a sign for me to continue."Did your meds wear off yet or did you retake it? Because as your new best friend I need to know these things."

"It'll go down in two hours. May I ask why you care so much, new found best friend?" I smiled and quickly answered his question.

"Because you shouldn't have to change for anyone let alone complete strangers." He smiled at this and ruffled my hair.

"Thanks. I gotta go, bestie." He kissed me on the cheek and walked off. I blushed and smiled widely thinking of my new best friend. But all good things come to an end when I hear a bundle of squeals and giggles. I look in front of me to see an over cheered Aj, Liz and Rosie running towards me.

"TELL.US.EVERYTHING!!" They squealed and took my hand as they pushed me out the gym doors.
