We left the room, having no clue where we are even going, and that we’re just going. We ran passed some guards who didn’t even attempt to stop us, and I guess Rite finally got his footing, because I suddenly wasn’t dragging him as much as he was dragging me, and we were flying through the hallways of the building. I let out the happiest laugh I’ve let out in almost 14 years, and we shot right through the building doors without a moment's hesitation.
I half hoped Rite knew where he was going, but at the same time, I didn’t. It was a beautiful day out, and the capital was absolutely beautiful. We slowed to barely even a walk when we got outside and I made a full 360 to take in all of the beauty at once. There were stark white skyscrapers everywhere, and it looked like there wasn’t a single non- modern building or house in the capital. Everything was simply breathtaking, especially with the teal blue sky behind it. It looked like the things I could only dream about; none of it looked real.
I looked at Rite, and I found him staring at me with a simple half- smile on his face. It was ridiculously cute. He shakes his head and looked up at the buildings. I follow suit, and I move next to him and grab his hand, and I press my cheek against his shoulder, smiling to myself.
That was when I got a good look of the residents of the capital. They reminded me of absolute barbie dolls. Almost all of them had received so much plastic surgery that they looked fake. Some of them had 6-inch eyelashes, others had fangs, some had wigs that shot up a good foot at least above their head, and everyone wore way too much makeup.
I squeezed Rite’s hand, as if to tell him to go, and he understood. We began walking to who knows where, hand in hand.

We reached what looked like a marketplace after walking for maybe five minutes, and I had money, so I bought us food, despite Rite’s amount of complaints that it should be him paying for food for us, and not me. I winked at him and payed anyways, with an evil smile on my face. Once I payed, I stuck my tongue out at Rite before taking a bite of my pastry.
The food in Apenture was always good. No matter what, it made your taste buds blossom, and made you crave the next bite, but the capital food was absolutely amazing. In just a simple pastry, I was certain I had never tasted anything so good. Also, based on Rite’s face as he scarfed his pastry down, he had never had anything nearly as good, either. I giggled as he looked up at me with a bit of cream on his face, and he said with a mouthful, “wha?”
I giggled and licked my thumb and cleaned his face with my thumb, and I pulled him into a tight hug. “I’m really glad I met you, Rite.”
He smiled and came back with, “I am too, Nikol,” which made me smile. He was awkwardly sweet, and I loved that.
We continued walking for a while, and did basically nothing productive. We joked around and walked inside of stores, not planning on buying anything, given the ridiculously steep prices that came with living in the capital. I had even had one lady stop and ask me where I got my shirt, and when I told her from a store in Apenture, she offered me $4,000 for it. The only reason I declined was because I had nothing else to wear, which deeply saddened me, however, Rite made me happy again. Honestly, this guy was way too good at making me happy and it honestly scared me, in a joking way, though. There was a lot of things that made me happy, and currently Rite is on the very top of that list.
It was starting to get dark, and we were starting to head back, but Rite took a little detour to what had to be the single most beautiful fountain I’ve ever seen. We sat by it and talked for a while, when Rite suddenly took my hand. I looked up at him, trying to read him, and when I found that I couldn’t, I tucked my face into his neck. He must’ve felt something from it, because he adjusted slightly, and I picked my head up to face him, and to try to read his face again.
Rite simply smiled at me, which made me blush, but then he grabbed the back of my neck and looked into my eyes. I could barely meet his gaze, and I kept looking off, until he leaned forward and kissed me, dancing lights bouncing and showing from nowhere, as if attempting to break off this glorious momen
