I had honestly never been happier. Things were finally looking up in my favor and I am so glad they were, because I’d been on quite the streak of bad luck lately. Nikol was the best thing to ever happen to me, and I am so damn lucky to be able to call her mine. It was crazy someone as bad as me was able to have a girl as good as her fall for me. Half of me was legitimately curious as to what she saw in me, but I quickly decided not to ask her.

The capital had been letting me keep in shape, as well as keep clean. I had never been this clean before, especially since showers were rare in Ponama, and these showers felt great.

I stepped in the shower, and there was a lot of dirt and grime that immediately fell off my body as the water hit me. I had just realized it had been about two months since my last shower, and I instantly felt embarrassed for Nikol, given I’d kissed her being this dirty.

I ran my finger through my hair with shampoo, and I instantly felt amazing. Once I stepped out of the shower, I felt like ten pounds lighter. I felt clean for the first time in basically ever. I brushed my teeth, and did my hair, and I even put on cologne! This all was a first for me, and I almost felt weird being so clean, but when I walked out of the bathroom, Nikol looked me up and down, and nodded in approval. Why must she be so embarrassing all of the time?

I felt my face burn and I looked at her. “I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been so clean in my entire life. This feels so, weird…” She busted out laughing and pulled me in a hug, which left me hella confused.

“Awe, baby… You’re so adorable!” she said, extremely casually.

I puckered my face and told her I’m really not, but that just made her awe more.

“You know, you sure do clean up extremely nice, Rite. Like, wow,” She exclaimed, with a whistle. I just rolled my eyes with a smile, and pulled her into a hug. “OOO, cologne?!”

We stood outside of our rooms, waiting for today’s briefing, and we stood side by side. It was maybe ten minutes after the normal time the man normally showed up before Nikol and I looked at each other quizzically. We waited an extra 15 minutes, before we sat down, and she leaned up against me.

That was when the alarms went off.
