It seemed like a bit of luck had returned to Charles after Monaco. Even though Canada had been an enjoyable race for him with a nice P3, he didn't think the race was ideal for the team. The penalty that was given to Seb was unfair in his eyes and the atmosphere in the cool down room hadn't been very good to be in. Charles didn't say much to either of the two drivers who had been there with him. Lewis had a nice win of course, but if Sebastian didn't have the penalty, the Ferrari would've been on the highest step of the podium. Anyway, he had a nice P3 and would be able to take home a trophy. He had missed Edrice that week. She flew back to London to meet up with her new manager. Edrice was starting her new channel that is concentrating on racing series and not specifically cars. She had made a video for the old instagram page a couple days ago to explain that she had stopped working with Jomana to focus on F1 and its series, not naming their conflict at all.

Charles admired Edrice so much. He had never met a woman as strong as she was. He had the feeling that he could leave her on her own and he trusted her a lot. He had never felt that with his previous girlfriend before. Edrice had been very busy, yet she texted him each night or called him when he was still awake, to tell him about the process. He liked having a couple days on his own. Of course he loved being with her and so did she the other way around, yet sometimes some personal time was needed as well. Charles was busy to prepare for France at the moment. He looked forward to return to Paul Ricard, France was some sort of his second home too. Edrice wouldn't be able to make it to fly in on Thursday already. She was sorting out everything back in London and she'd catch an early Sundaymorning flight to make it to the race atleast. Charles was happy she was coming over. Perhaps it would be a good oppertunity for her to create the first bits of content for her new media pages.

It was quite warm in France during the track walk. Charles wore a white shirt instead of his teamwear and held a bottle of water in his head. The sun was bright and he felt like his shades couldn't beat the beams of the brightest star in the sky. The colours of the track were almost making him dizzy and he swore driving this track was easier than walking it. They returned to the pitlane, it was time to meet some paddock guests and take some pictures with them before he went back to the paddock. Later in the afternoon was the pitlanewalk for the weekend visitors, perhaps he had some time to come out and greet them as well, however he knew how busy it could be. The Ferrari mechanics went to work already and the trucks were unloaded with all of the parts they needed this weekend. Charles made his way to the pitbox and walked passed Red Bull. His friend Pierre had his home race this weekend and Charles was sure a lot of fans would be here for him.

"Ciao, Charles". He looked up as he saw the smiling Cate, but no Pierre on her side. "Is Edrice here?". She asked right away, which made him smile a bit too. The girls seemed to get along very well. "She's flying in on Sunday, she had some work to do in London". Caterina nodded as she looked up at him. "I'll see her then". Cate replied. "Of course". Charles nodded as well and smiled at her before continuing to walk down the pitlane. Edrice got along with a lot of the other girlfriends. She had been out with Caterina and Dilara in Monaco and during the previous week she had met up with Kelly Piquet as well. The Brasilian girlfriend of Daniil Kvyat had a heavy baby bump and was probably going to give birth to their little girl in the upcoming three months. Charles liked the couple, even though he didn't speak to them much. He also thought they were strong for deciding to start a family at quite a young age and with Daniil on the road all the time.

If Edrice and him would be together for a lot more years, which he liked to think off, he'd perhaps start suggesting a baby then, but not now they were in their young twenties. "Penny for your thoughts, champ?". Sebastian suddenly patted him on the back as he walked through the paddock to get to the hospitality. "Or just missing your girlfriend?". He teased and Charles rolled his eyes, still with a smile. "Just like you miss your trophy from last race?". Sebastian scoffed, nevertheless chuckled at the comment of his younger teammate. "Harsh, Leclerc. We'll talk again when you have four worldtitles behind your name". He grinned and Charles chuckled, shaking his head while walking up the few steps of the Ferrari hospitality.
