Persia Madlock "GODDAMNNNN!" Liam said looking me up and down as I walked into his house letting the trench coat I'd been wearing fall off of me. I turned around revealing my ass to him looking over my shoulder.
I closed the front door and wasted no time throwing my arms around his neck kissing him all over his neck and face. I pecked his lips repeatedly and he moved his head placing his hands on my shoulders pushing me back to put space between us.
"WHOA! WHOA!" He said looking confused. "You got too much dip on ya muthafuckin' chip. I know I'm fine and all but what the fuck is up?" He raised an eyebrow straightening out his shirt. "You married to my boy. I know we done had our lil escapades in the past with them orgies but that was when ya ass was a doll. Jasper loves the shit out of you so why are you trying to cheat on him?"
"If he loves me so much then why the fuck did he leave me for Dominique?!" I yelled as he picked up the trench coat handing it to me and I put it back on.
"WHOAAA! WHOAAA!" He put his hand up. "I said whoa."
"Can you say something other than that? Damn it." I said angrily walking to the door to leave when he grabbed me by the arm.
"My bad. My bad P. You can't just drop information like that on me though and expect me not to react. Have a seat."
"You mean you didn't know?" I walked over to the couch taking a seat watching as he sat on the opposite couch.
"Jasper? Dominique? Back together?" He raised an eyebrow. "I definitely did not know that. Shit don't even sound right." He shook his head.
"Well it's true." I told him. "And to add insult to injury he left Koren and Kylah with me when he moved out. Apparently Dominique is out of town right now tending to a sick relative and he's staying in a hotel. What if it was lies and he's with her right now in a hotel spending time and making up for lost time of being apart? How could I be such a fool?!" I placed my head in my hands trying to hide the fresh tears.
"Wait..." Liam said. "Cause I'm confused. Run all of this back from the beginning so I can understand it a little better than what I am right about now."
I cried to him telling the whole story of how Jasper had come home one night and said that he was going back to Dominique. Normally we didn't put people in our marriage business but I needed someone to confide in and Liam was a listening ear so I told him how Jasper was still in love with Dominique and instead of making him choose I allowed the threesomes. I told him everything and by the time I was finished he just sat there not blinking with his mouth slightly open. I could've sworn I'd saw a fly, fly into his mouth and then back out.
"Damn." He let out a breath he'd clearly been holding in. "I— lawd. Give me a minute to process this."
"Liam be serious." I sniffled taking the tissue he'd handed me.
"No bullshit P this is me being serious. I'm just shocked that you and Dominique would have any type of encounter like that. I know she still doesn't know about Jasper sleeping with her sister Delaney. If she knew that— man listen I'm just confused about everything you just told me. It's hard to believe this shit ya know?" He scratched the back of his neck. "Jasper loves the shit outta you and believe me I know because when y'all were on the run that's all he told us whenever he called to let us know y'all were good. He was married to Dominique and we all saw how much he loved her but it's just something different about the way you and him love. Y'all love hard." He told me. "Y'all love like it ain't nobody else in the world but y'all. That's how into each other y'all are. Like y'all live and breathe for each other. I don't know about all this going back to Dominique shit. I just know it ain't sitting right with me."
"If he's that into me and loves me that much then why isn't he here with me instead of her?! Can you tell me that?" I sobbed as tears spilled from my eyes faster than I could wipe them away.
"Listen.." He exhaled handing me another tissue as I stared at him. "All I know is that you're the best thing that's ever happened to him. I can only dream to have what y'all have with somebody someday but I'm in no rush to do it if it doesn't come naturally. Y'all have a natural love. It isn't forced. Julian has just had a baby with his wife and Mega has just gotten engaged. I want that someday but the girl I just broke up with didn't seem like the marrying type so I had to let shawty go. You're a good woman. I know you hurt but sleeping with ya husband's best friend because he hurt you won't fix anything and that's real. Go home to ya kids and stay there. Keep ya mind and attention on them because seeing you hurt will only make them hurt. Order something to eat and watch a movie with 'em. When you hurting like this sometimes you gotta put ya focus on sum'n else. I'll talk to Jasper and get answers. Aight?"
"Thank you so much." I got up from the couch and as he stood up I hugged him because I was so glad he decided to be a listening ear instead of making an even bigger fool of myself trying to sleep with him.
The pain I felt of being left for another woman tore me apart. I'd cried a whole week and my children watched me. Koren and Kylah asked me questions because they were so concerned. They weren't so easy to lie to because they were older than the other kids. They knew that something was wrong between me, Dominique, and Jasper. They knew and I couldn't bring myself to tell them that their mother had taken their father away from me. I missed him and I didn't like being treated this way. Sure I was hurt but I also felt so fucking enraged because I'd basically given him back to her when we'd had those threesomes.
"Look as a matter of fact I'll call him over here right now so you can get answers. I won't tell him you here. I'll just tell him I wanna kick it. Park ya car in the back." Liam said and I nodded because when I asked my questions this time Jasper wouldn't be able to hang up in my face. He'd have to listen. He'd have to face me.
