Omniscient "There she is." Mia smiled standing next to Jasper as he held eye contact with the two year old who cracked a smile.

The way she lit up was if she really remembered him. The only reason she knew that he was her father was because Mia had shown her photos of him and had constantly told her that Jasper was her father. Karlee started calling him daddy. It was something she'd gotten used to saying and now that she was seeing the man from the photos in person the excitement she felt was written all over her face.
"Hi daddy! Hey!" She waved happily as she ran back into the bedroom she'd been napping in. Jasper slowly walked into the room watching her climb up on the bed. He still couldn't believe that his baby girl was here in the flesh. For years he'd had a big part of his heart missing where she should've been. The way she'd been ripped away from him ate away at him constantly although he never showed it or voiced it. It was only because he didn't want to weigh his wife down with that because she'd blame herself knowing that Mia had used her body to commit such a horrible act.
Jasper stared at her and his eyes watered as she looked over at him flashing another smile.

He sat down on the bed never taking his eyes off of his daughter. He swallowed around the lump in his throat clearing his throat after a few seconds.
"Daddy say hi." Karlee told him wanting him to say it back to her. By now the tears were flowing and he couldn't control it.
"I say hi. You say hi." She giggled. To see her goofy personality in person and not just a memory he played over and over in his head made him grab his chest. His heart was pounding at a rapid pace. All she wanted him to say was one word and he couldn't get it out.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and cried. Unable to listen and see him cry Mia walked away from the door leaving the two of them alone.
"No cry daddy." Karlee sat up waving her finger around. "No cry." She sat close to him placing her tiny hand on his patting it. "I cry." Her eyes watered. "See?" She pointed to her face and Jasper looked out her and burst out laughing. It was a hearty laugh. A laugh that he clearly needed more than anything right now. "I cry hard." Karlee told him and he continued to laugh grabbing her and sitting her on his knee. He wrapped his arms around her like he used to do when she was a baby. Closing his eyes he exhaled deeply just taking in the moment.
