Chapter 4

"Eady! What are you doing?" Kile yelled. I blinked and shook my head. I was paranoid. I'm fine. I just need to find that saferoom before something like that does actually happen. I ran around pressing on the wall until I heard a click

"Kile!" I yelled "In here!" I pointed to the saferoom I just opened. He ran over and held the door open so I could run in then he followed, slamming the door shut behind him

"Do these things lock automatically?" He asked

"Yes. Once they are closed, you need a key to unlock it." I pulled a key from a hidden pocket in my dress "I never understood why mom and dad forced me to have this everyday but now I get it. There are so many hidden saferooms all over the palace and they are soundproof so incase a guard misses one, we could be trapped. But after 2 days, the doors automatically open just incase someone who doesn't have a key gets trapped."

"Soundproof, you say?" Kile raises his eyebrow at me

"Yeah. Why? What are you gonna do?" I asked

"Oh, I don't know. This." He pushed me up against the door and kissed me with force but it had love behind it. It felt so good to be cherished by someone like this. Now I see why Ahren left, the feeling is addicting.

I kissed Kile back and played with the collar of his shirt and tried to pull him closer, as if it was possible to be closer than we already are. He pulled back a little and I whimpered

"God, Eady. I love you so much. You make it so hard to think when I'm around you." He said out of breath

"Don't think. Just do." I said and pulled his face back down to mine and kissed him

He pulled back again and pressed his forehead against mine "Eady, if I didn't think, your dress would be on the floor."

"Then why isn't it?" I asked

"Because we're in a saferoom. In the middle of a rebel attack. Now isn't the time to hook up. And you have a bunch of guys downstairs who are still fighting for you."

"I don't want them. I just want you Kile."

"I want you too but its your duty, as Princess, to hold a selection and see it through to the end."

"Trust me, Woodwork, if I could, the selection would be over by now and all those boys would be packing up their stuff and leaving"

"I know. But you have to do this. As much as it pains me to think that you'll kiss another one of those guys, I know you love me and I love you and that's all we need. All we need is to love each other." He hugged me close to him and kissed the top of my head "Right?"

"All we need is to love each other. That's easy." I sat on the floor against the wall hand he did the same. I took the pins out of my hair and let it free. I laid my head on his lap and he started playing with my hair.

"It's very easy." He bent down and gave me a small kiss "Why did it take us so long to figure this out?"

"Because we're stupid teenagers." I reasoned

"No, you're a stupid teenager. I'm a stupid adult."

"At least we agree that you're stupid" I said. He faked being hurt and I laughed at him

"You really are something, Eadlyn Schreave." He said shaking his head "You're one of a kind."

"In a good way I hope."

"In the best way." He caressed the side of my face

"You are one of a kind too, Kile Woodwork."

Hi! I'm so sorry for this being on hold for so long. I hope you liked this chapter. I think it resembled the time when Maxon and America were trapped in the saferoom after he got caned that one time. I even included the part about the lock on the doors(let me know in the comments if you caught that reference)

Keadlyn is so fun to write for. I love them as a couple so much and I hope this chapter was a good one to come back from my "break" with.
