We continued talking until we heard a click from the door. It swung open and a guard peeked in
"Oh thank goodness you're okay, your highness." Officer Jension said with a sigh of relief
"Yes, we're okay." I said and sat up. Kile stood up and reached out his hand to help me up. I took it and we left the safe room "Where are my parents?" I asked
"Probably in their room."
"Okay. Thank you."
"My pleasure." He said and Kile and I started walking
"Where are we going?"
"To my parents' room of course. That's why I asked the guard where they were." He stopped walking
"Why are we going up there?"
"I want to tell them that I've made my choice." I told him. I reached up on the tips of my toes and kissed his cheek
"Eady, you can't do that." He took a step back from me. "Not yet."
"Why not. I love you, you love me. Why drag this on longer?" I asked
"We talked about this. It's your job as the princess."
"I know. But why can't I do what makes me happy? Why can't I be in control of my life for once?"
"You can tell them you made your choice. I'll go with you. But you have to promise me you'll keep going on with the selection as if the other guys still had a chance." He said and wrapped his arms around me "Promise me, Eadlyn."
I hugged him back "I promise, Kile" He leaned down to kiss me
"Okay."
