Chapter 26 "Colleges & Scholorships"

3 Month Later...

\Selena's POV/ 

        I'm graduated. It was a three months after the talk at the police station. Remembering that, it has been months after my graduation.

        My mom and I have been looking at colleges across the California state and not many have been very good to my appealing. "What about this one?" My mom asked pointing one out. I was sitting in the Lynch's living room with my mom and sister looking at colleges once again using Stormie's computer. I shook my head,

        "Way too big," I said drinking my soda. She glared, "Selena, you have to be a little open minded. You are saying no to every college I pull up!" she said. I shrugged, "I guess there is no such thing as my perfect college.." I said leaving the room. I walked into the kitchen and saw Ross talking to Rydel.

        "Hey," Ross said smiling at me. I half smiled and he snuck a kiss onto my cheek. I leaned against the counter next to him. "What's up?" Rydel asked. I shrugged, "My mom is talking about colleges again."

        Let me explain everything that has been going on. Ross and I have been dating for four months now, Rydel and I are still best friends and I hope it stays that way. My house is back to the way it was and my mom and I and my sister would chill out at the Lynch's house. Everything seemed to be back the way it was. The only thing that won't go back to the way it was, months ago, was that I am going to college so, I might not be around that much anymore. 

        "Have you found any in California?" Ross asked. I nodded,

        "Yeah, but they all are either too big or too small. Also, they don't have my needs."

        "That sucks!" Rocky said walking in the room. I smirked, "Yeah a lot!"

        "You should go to one that is near our place," Ross said. "So you won't be so far away from me," he smiled and I elbowed him in his stomach and he put an arm around me. "Hey, you can't forget about me too! Your best friend!" Rydel yelled out and I nodded, "Of course, how can I forget about you?!" I laughed. 

        My mom came in and saw us talking and sighed, "Selena, if you want we can look at colleges out of state if you really cannot find one in Cali." 

        I looked at Ross then Rydel and then Rocky surprised. "Um, I don't know. I want to stay close to home," I gulped and she chuckled, "Honey, we have looked about everywhere! Either you make a decision or you have to find one out of state!" she said and left the room. I rolled my eyes and drank my soda some more. Everyone stood staring at me with a weird look. 

        "Why are you guys staring at me like that?" I asked. Ross coughed, 

        "Are you going to college away from us?" he asked and I bit my lip, 

        "It's not my first option..." I said and left without saying another word. 

        \Rydel's POV/

        Silence filled the room. 

        "Do you-you think she'll do it?" Ross asked. I shrugged, 

        "By what it looks like right now? It's a possibility." 

        Ross shook his head, "I'm not trying to be a crappy person or anything but I hope she doesn't go away." Rocky shuffled his feet, "It doesn't make you a crappy person just because you don't want to be away from her." I felt the same way as Ross does, I do not want her to go out of state! She might be Ross's girlfriend but she is also my best friend! She always has been. I would die if I knew she'd move out of state to go to college. 

        "I'll talk to her later," I said and left to my room. I found Selena in there looking on my computer onto her email account. I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw the smile across her face. I sat next to her, "What's up?" Her voice was high and full of glee. "I got in." 

        "What do you mean you got in?" I asked.

        "I got into a college! I got a scholorship due to my excellent grades and my high GPA!" she cheered. I raised one eyebrow this time, "I thought you had trouble looking for a college." 

        "Actually, I applied to a school a few miles away from here a long time ago and I just told my mom I didn't have a school yet. So, I was pretty much playing a game. I didn't want everyone making a big deal about it," she explained. 

        "ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY?!" was the only think I could yell at her right now. She nodded smiling. I smiled and hugged her, "YES! I WON'T BE LOSING MY BEST FRIEND!" She pulled away from me after a while, 

        "You guys were never going to lose me. God," she chuckled. We heard a knock on the door and it was Ross. "What's with the yelling?" he smirked. Selena went to him and explained everything all over again and he smiled and hugged her, "That's amazing!" She hugged back and I smiled at how cute this was. He pulled away and held her by her shoulders, "I'll visit you every weekend and I'll call you everyday!" Selena rolled her eyes, "Alright. Alright. But, I'm not leaving yet." 

        "When will you leave?" I asked and she went back to her computer. She nodded,
        "About... two weeks." 

        I gulped, "Oh. That's not too bad." 

        "Yeah, the school year for college students starts in three weeks and they want the students to relax for a week in their dorms and get used to campus." 

        \Ross's POV/ 

        I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her cheek, 

        "Just as long as you don't find some college guy and hook up with him. I'm good." She laughed, "That won't happen." 

        We all left the room to tell everyone Selena got accepted and her mom was over the top happy. I was happy for her. I didn't plan on going to college but, I know I can get a job even with my high school diploma. It might not be too glamorous but, I can do it. Selena says she'll be in music major and everything seemed like things were looking up for us. 

        "2 weeks. We have 2 weeks to do whatever and make it worth wild!" Riker yelled and Selena nodded, "Well, what should we do?" 

        "I say we just spend time together. We could go to the movies, park, pool and maybe go bowling!" Ryland shouted.
        "We'll have time to do all of that," Selena said and sighed, "Wow... I'm going to college." 

        I smiled, "Yes. Yes you are. And I am so proud of you!!!" I yelled and picked her on her toes and kissed her gently. She kissed back and we all spent the rest of the day celebrating.
