Chapter 28 "Mornings & Last Day"

\Ross's POV/

        I woke up on my couch, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I looked down to find a blanket around Sel and I, "I don't remember having a blanket," I thought to myself. I saw Selena's black hair and soon her head and she was sleeping. I smirked and threw my head back until I heard laughter. Rydel's laughter to be exact.

        "Oh my gosh, you two look so cute!" She said smiling, sitting on the chair next to the couch we were on. I half smiled yet half grimised towards her. "I blanket on you guys by the way..." she smiled. I nodded, "Thanks."

        I pushed Selena up by her lower back and carefully got up and set her back down on the couch and put a pillow under her head so she wouldn't wake up. I went in front of a mirror and fixed myself up and saw I was shirtless but had pants on. Okay, thank god.

        "I'm guessing you guys had an interesting night," Rydel said while tossing me my shirt and me catching it. I nodded, "I guess. I mean..." I stuttered and started remembering what happened last night. We made out and we had a few laughs when I took my shirt off and she would laugh, "Wow! So muscular! I'm impressed!" I'd smirk, "Oh shut it. You know you like it."

        She'd punch my arm and roll her eyes, "Of course I do..." and we'd kiss again. We made out on the couch and then she would get sleepy and I got sleepy. It all went downhill from there with us falling asleep. Back to reality, Rydel and I are talking.

        "Everyone's awake by the way..." she said guestering to the kitchen where I saw my mom, Riker, and Ryland eating. "Mom was cool with seeing her and I on the couch?" She shrugged, "I guess."

        She got up off the arm of the chair and fixed my hair, "She knows you're not stupid. She trusts you." Rydel then smiled at me and left to the kitchen. I heard my mom shout to me, "Ross!"

        "Yeah?"

        "If you want, Selena can stay for breakfast."

        I nodded, "Okay. I'll ask her when she wakes up." My mom nodded smiling and finished putting some scrambeled eggs on a plate. I went to Selena and gently shook her, "Hey, wake up."

        She woke up and yawned, rubbing her eyes. "You awake?" I asked and she nodded, "Yep." She sat up and sniffed the air, "mm, I smell food." I chuckled, "It is food, silly." She smiled sligtly and got up with her dress wrinkled. Riker walked in and smirked at her, "Hey Sel, if you need something else to wear, I'm sure Rydel has something you can try!" She looked down and nodded, "Thanks."

        I looked at the calendar and saw that... today is the day she was leaving for college. Damn it.

        I grabbed Selena by her wrist and whispered to her, "I love you, okay?" She looked at me and nodded, "I love you too, Ross." I nodded and kissed her and she kissed back.

        "C'mon Sel, let's get you some new clothes," Riker said and Selena followed him out to Rydel's room. I sighed and sat down on the couch. I got a call on my phone and it was from one of my good friends, Ellington Ratliff, he was at his house and I can't help but wonder what he wants at about ten o clock in the morning.

        "Hello?"

        "Hey man."

        "What's up?"

        "Nothin much, what about you?"

        "Just thinking about things. Why you sound so down and out?"

        I sighed and looked up at the ceiling fan that swirled around and around. I would try counting how many times it swirled but, I lost track after ten. I answered him,

        "Selena's leaving today for college."

        "Oh god, really?"

        "mmhhm."

        "Wanna talk about it?" he asked me and I nodded, "Yes."

        "I'll be over at lunch. I also need to talk to Rydel for a bit."

        "Rydel? Why?"

        "Um, I'm sure you'll find out on your own."

        I shrugged it off and we said goodbye. I went into the kitchen to find Selena, Rydel, Riker, Rocky, Ryland, my mom and dad....everyone I loved in one little kitchen together. I wish it was like this all the time.  I sat down by Selena who was next to Rydel and started chewing down some cereal. "We have pancakes, Rossy, if you want some," Rydel smiled at me passing me a plate full of pancakes mom made.

        Rossy. They call me that when they want to see me smile or they want me to feel better. It was a nickname. I shook my head and showed the plate away. "You have to eat, Rossy, come on!" Rydel said getting up and grabbing a pancake and waving it in my face. "It's so good!" she teased. "Smells really good too," Rocky smirked taking a bite of a pancake.

        "I don't feel like eating..." I said and left the room to my room. I could hear footsteps following me but, I slammed the door behind me falling onto my bed face first. The door swung open and I groaned, "Go away... Ryland."

        "It's not Ryland, man," I heard someone say in a weird deep voice.
        "Riker..." I groaned.

        I felt a hand on the back of my leg patting me, "Nope," the voice laughed in a higher pitch. I raised an eyebrow, "Rydel?" The person came closer and the voice become more clear and began sounding like a girl.

        "I don't think so..." the voice said and then I felt a pair of lips touch my cheek. "Hey," Selena finally smiled at me playing with my hair making it messy. I smirked, "Hey."

        I grabbed her hand and sat up on the bed, "I don't want you to leave so soon," I said and she sighed, "Me neither... but, you can always come visit me during the weekend." I nodded, "For sure."

        "Be strong for me, babe?" she chuckled playing with my hair, fixing it. I nodded and pulled her closer pressing my lips to hers. "I will," I said when we pulled away. "Good," she said and pulled me up off my bed.

        "Let's go to your family. Please..." she said and I nodded, "Let's go," I said finally smiling fully.

        She wrapped an arm around my waist and we left the room with my arm around her. This is going to be good... I hope.
