Ayumi's POV:

I slowly opened my eyes to find myself in Reiji's room. I heard a beeping and some pressure on my finger. There seemed to be a clamp on my pointer finger and the wire led to a heart monitor. My throat felt scratchy and my body seemed heavy, certain parts aching. I look around the room. All the boys and Yui were asleep, each of them looking the worse I've seen them. Reiji had taken the only chair in the room, Shu was on the floor, Kanato was sitting on the couch with Laito and Ayato, while Subaru was leaning against the wall. The brothers all had bags under their eyes and their complexion looked worse than what a vampire should look like. I look at my sister and see her leaning on Ayato, her eyes puffy and her cheeks red, as if she had been crying. The sight of them made me teary before I tried to say something, keyword TRIED.

"Guys....." I managed to get out as the beeping from the monitor got faster.

All the boys' and Yui's eyes snapped open to see me trying to get up, only to fail and fall on the bed. Suddenly I was surrounded by voices as they each asked me or told me something all at one time.

"ARE YOU OKAY?"

"IDIOT STOP TRYING TO GET UP."

"HOW ARE YOU FEELING?"

"shut up..... water....."

They seemed to get the message as Reiji helped me sit up as I was handed a cup of water by Shu. I drank the liquid gratefully, finishing it in a few seconds. Shu took the glass from my hand and placed it on the nightstand next to me.

"How long have I been out?"

All the boys stayed quiet.

"A week."

"A WEEK?" I screeched out.

They all flinched but nodded their head nonetheless. I started fidgeting when I noticed something about my leg. I quickly removed the blanket to see my broken leg was back to normal. I lifted my leg and looked in awe.

"Our father healed you."

I flinched when he said the word 'father'.

"THAT BASTARD?? I'M GONNA KILL HIM WHEN I SEE HIM AGAIN."

"Calm down Ayumi."

I looked at Subaru surprised he even used the words 'calm down'.

"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT? THIS BASTARD FUCKED ME UP."

"We know and we're mad too. But right now, none of us, you included, have the power to go against him. You should know that by now."

I stayed quiet, knowing he was completely right.

"What is his name?"

"...Karlheinz." Shu said.

"As you know, our father is the vampire king. He is the most powerful being in the demon world, possessing both intelligence and magical powers." Reiji said.

I nodded.

"He hates getting his hands dirty. He's very manipulating and tends to make people do his will, whether they're aware of it or not. He surprised us though when he came after you himself." Laito said.

"HE CARES ABOUT NO ONE BUT HIMSELF," Kanato screamed at me.

"Ok what the fuck chill Kanato. S O basically what you guys are saying is that this guy is a selfish prick."

"To sum it up, yeah," Ayato said.

I sigh putting my head in my palms. What did I do to deserve dealing with all this shit?
