**WARNING: MENTIONS OF SELF HARM**
Ayumi's POV:
When I said I would treat Kanato to cake, I meant one slice NOT 6. NOT TO MENTION THAT THIS IS SOME HIGH-CLASS SHIT TOO. When we left school, I offered to take him to one of the cheaper places, saying that their cake was good. He instantly got mad at me saying he didn't want to eat commoner trash. Not wanting to anger him in public, I let him choose where we eat. So here we are, in a cafe that charges $20 per slice of cake. I look down at my wallet, crying silently because of how empty it was. I watched him devour the cake smiling gleefully with cream on his cheek. The motherly instinct in me came out as I grabbed a napkin and wiped his messy cheeks with it. He was looking up at me with those big eyes of his curiously.
"Do you want a bite Doll-chan?"
Considering the price of the cake, I assumed that it would taste pretty good. I nodded and pointed at the chocolate cake. "I'll take some of that one," I said moving to grab a fork.
He stopped me before using his own fork and offering me part of it. I turned red as I looked at him half whispering, half yelling "ARE YOU CRAZY?! THIS IS TOO EMBARRASSING!".
"So you don't want a taste?"
I growled while weighing my options. Take a bite and face embarrassment, or miss out on a chocolate cake that took away $20 from your wallet. I sighed before I opened my mouth and letting Kanato feed me. Man, this cake did not disappoint. The cream was thick and just the amount of sweetness while the cake was light and fluffy. It almost made me cry that I could only get one bite, considering that I PAID FOR IT. I licked my lips and sighed in satisfaction.
"Teddy and I agree that you can have it"
I looked up to see Kanato handing me the plate and pink dusted his cheeks. I grinned at him, thanking him and digging in. Oh heavens this was worth the $20. Kanato watched silently before eating the rest of the cake. Something about eating cake with Kanato seemed super nostalgic. I unconsciously smile and pat his head as he finished up the last of his cake. God this teenager acted like a 5-year-old, I couldn't help but baby him. We finished up and went out. Before heading back to the mansion, Kanato wanted to head to his favorite candy store. When we arrived at the store, I offered to stay outside and that he could take his time looking inside.
"Okay, but can you hold Teddy for me?"
I choked. The kid who got mad at anyone who tried to get near or try to talk to his Teddy was asking ME to hold it? The world must be ending.
"Uh I could but are you sure you want ME to hold it?" I asked skeptically.
"Teddy said he WANTS you to hold him."
Fuck. I really didn't want to hold him. It would be really embarrassing for a teenage girl to be holding a doll in public. The more time that passed with me hesitating, the more Kanato's frown grew. Ah, fuck it.
"Fine give him here"
His frown turned upside down as he placed Teddy in my arms and skipped into the shop. I stood out there holding Teddy awkwardly and blushing as people passed me and stared. Luckily, Kanato didn't take too long. He offered to take us to the mansion via teleportation and I agreed despite my stomach trying to tell me no. My surroundings once again became blurry before I found us in the living room where everyone was chilling. I almost threw up the cake I just ate but I mentally chanted 'Twenty dollars, twenty dollars, twenty dollars'. Luckily my queasiness went away quickly and I looked up to see everyone's shocked expressions as they stared down at my hands. Confused, I look back down at my hands realizing I was still holding Teddy. I shrugged at them as I handed him back to Kanato.
