Natasha glanced down upon her right hand. The diamond ring show brightly on her third finger. It had been eight months since the whole Red Room crisis and one month since Steve had proposed to her. Natasha had to admit she had her doubt's about the whole ordeal. But with the Guild of assassin's gone and Steve being re-assigned as her new partner on the job, she figured that it just might work. The couple did get a touch of cold feet now and again, but that was to be expected. They argued mainly about thing's like their dangerous jobs, Steve's old fashioned notion's of marriage, if they should keep living in the tower or get their own place and the last one was a topic that Natasha did not was to get into at all. Kids.

The whole idea freaked her out to no end. It's not that she completely hated kids or something, it's just she didn't know about herself having kids. Maybe because she just didn't think she was very good with them. What was worse was that Steve wanted a family, maybe a couple of kids, wanted to settle down eventually. Natasha was always convinced that she would be in the business until it killed her. Now she was getting married. It both excited yet terrified her.

"Any particular reason that you had to drag me outside, away from everyone else?" Natasha remembered asking that one night. "Is there a problem?"  Natasha was curious for two reasons. One, Steve had made a firm point of team openness and honesty. Second, Natasha could tell he was acting skittish, even more so that usual. There standing on the balcony, the night air softly blowing over the couple, Natasha was scrutinizing Steve for some sort of a clue.

"Nothing, I, just...thought that this was something that should be between the two of us. At least that's how they did it in...my day." Steve was facing away from his girlfriend, gazing out onto the bright night light's of the roaring city bellow. Is he breaking up with me? Natasha wondered.

Steve took a deep breath and turned back to face Natasha. "I think thing's have been going really well between us." Not that I've really had any experience with relationships- Stop it! Steve shouted over his own negative thoughts, Focus!

"When I first woke up the ice I'd thought I had lost everything. I didn't know how I was going to deal with it all. And in a strange turn of event's I met you, you were the one that swept me off my feet and showed me how to live again." Steve started to slowly edge closer to Natasha. "I was honestly stunned when I first met you, in a good way I mean!" Steve stammered. Natasha grinned wryly.

"We've been through a lot together. Faced an alien invasion, Loki, Hydra, I mean, I like we've kinda passed all the test's."

"Test's?" Natasha inquired. Steve was now standing just two feet away from her. Natasha literally thought her heart had stopped as she watched Steve fall on one knee. Out of all the thing's she had assumed, this was not one of them.

"I think we can maybe manage one more." Steve pulled a small black box from his pocket and opened it up. "Natasha Alianovna Romanov...Would you..Marry me?" When Natasha didn't answer immediately Steve got nervous. "I mean, if-"

"Of course I want to you idiot!" Natasha quickly knelt down herself and kissed Steve tenderly. The two had completely forgotten about the ring until a good five minutes later when Steve slipped it on his Finace's finger.

"Stark, helped me pick it out. I didn't figure you'd want something too big and flashy, but-"

"No, I love it, really." Steve and Natasha were about to lean in for another kiss when they heard a low whistle from behind them.

"Wow, that has got to be the world's weirdest proposal ever. And did you seriously have to mention Loki in it?" Steve and Natasha both gave suggestive look's to Tony, who was standing in the door way. Tony waved them off.

"I'm just kidding, jeez. Nice job, Cap."

"How many of the other's are listening right now?" Inquired Steve, nervously. He had gone over that speech for weeks and still didn't even think it was that great! But he knew if he waited he would have lost the nerve. Natasha and Steve suddenly heard quick, sudden movement come from inside. Everyone scrambled to get back to their seats. Natasha laughed despite herself and eventually so did Steve.
