Starfall - Our last call

The begining

June 20th 9:00am 2030 - Zachary
I look out the window from my bed, It's a beautiful summer morning, the sky is clear and blue, perfect for what I'm planning today, Milo got up early to get some seeds from the super market so I have plenty of time to prepare and psyche myself up for what I have planned today. I get out of bed and go and look in the bathroom mirror, my green hair is a frizzy mess and I'm super sweaty, I must have had a wild dream last night.. I stare at myself in the mirror for a moment, not sure why, my pure white eyes stare back at me, many people think ghost eyes are creepy, but I don't really think so.. I get undressed and hop in the shower with a huge smile on my face, today is going to change our lives forever!!

9:37am - Milo

Tomatoes, Corn, Eggplant, Strawberries.. what else is in season.. I stare at the wide variety of seeds.. we're low on pumpkin seeds, I might as well get those. I pick up 7 packets and put them in my basket. I absolutely love fall because my birthday is in early November, and also because of the huge profit we make off of the massive pumpkins we grow, I love summer too since all the fruit is in season! Since I'm a half blood pixie I get fruit cravings. I look down at my basket full of seed packets, this should be enough for now. I make my way to the check out, and to my surprise my friend Anna is there!
"Morning, Anna!" I say happily
"Hey Milo!" She smiles
"Did you befriend any more animals?"
I ask her, as I place all the seeds on the counter.
"Yes! I found a lightning dragon egg last Saturday!"
"That's amazing!"
Anna is an extremely talented tamer and sorceress connected to a powerful magic guild down in Oakford. she's a 127 year old elf Who's had a lot of time on this earth to practice..
"It's gonna take a lot of work but it will be an incredible and rewarding experience, I'm sure of it!"
"What do you think you'll name them?"
"Not sure yet, also, that comes to 1200 Jewl."
I nod and dig through my wallet and use my credit card to pay for it.
"Well, for a lightning dragon I like the name 'Zipper!"
I take my tote bag full of seeds.
"Haha! Thank you for the name suggestion it's cute! I'll see you on Friday!"
I smile back
"See you on Friday!"
I make my way to the car and drive off to the green house to meet Zachary.

10:00am - Zachary

the sun shines throughout the green house, I finish watering the last of the tomatoes in the garden, the sprinklers broke while we were in Saint Murphy's so we need to water the plants by hand for a while until we fix them. Milo had dreamed of having a green house since we were in high school, after a lot of work we scraped enough money together to buy a green house exactly 3 years ago today, and we turned it into a business of our own, today is going to be so special, he's going to be here any minute now! we haven't been in the green house for a while because of our trip to Saint Murphy's to visit old friends, so there was more work to be done in the green house, it's crazy how fast life grows in here, Milo is really good with earth magic. I then hear the door open, and as expected, it's Milo.
"Hi Honey~"
he smiles warmly at me,
"Hi!"
I smile back.
he's wearing cuffed loose grey jeans with a black and white striped shirt, his steel helix piercings and lobe studs shine bright in the sun. The most amazing thing about Milo are without a doubt his eyes. His eyes are absolutely gorgeous, Milo has Heterochromia, meaning his eyes are two toned. the right is pinkish purple and the left is a greenish blue. He has natural curly pale purple hair. lately he's been practicing more magic outside of earth magic, he's never had the opportunity to because his mother is crazy. We agreed to not invite her to our future wedding— OH, right.. wedding.. I need to stop stalling.
Milo set his tote bag on the counter and starts organizing the seeds.
"I saw Anna working at the store this morning!"
"Cool, What did she say?"
"She apparently found a lightning dragon egg recently."
"Those are so cool! I can't wait to see it!"
"Me too! I recommend the name Zipper!"
"I like that name a lot, it suits a lightning dragon!"
"I know right?"
I discreetly check my pocket to see if the ring is still there, and it is. I take a deep breath, no more staling..
"Hey babe? Can I talk to you? It's nothing bad!! But it's.. important.."
"Yeah, sure."
He walks over to me and looks up at me, he's a bit shorter than me.
"What is it, Mochi?"
"Heh.. you haven't stopped calling me that since we first met.."
I gently smile at him.
"and I don't plan on stopping!"
He says as he hugs me.
I can feel my palms starting to sweat as I hug him back, I need to calm down! I've been waiting for this moment for years..
"Milo.. do you remember what today is?"
"Tuesday?"
"Yes, but no."
"OH WAIT! Three years ago today is when we bought the green house right!?"
Milo smiles.
"Yes it is! And.. I just wanted to say.. how much you mean to me.. through the 9 years we've been together, I haven't stopped loving you for a single second, even when you leave strawberry stems all over the coffee table.. through everything that was thrown at us we always make it through in the end together. Milo, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.."
"Z-Zach..? Are you.." His eyes widen as a faint blush dusts across his face.
I get on one knee and take the ring out of my pocket
"Milo, will you marry me?"
Milo hugs me tight and bursts into tears.
"YES!! Yes I will!"
We hug each other, full of pure bliss.
"I love you!"
"I love you too, Mochi!!"
I slide the ring on to his finger and we share a kiss together, giggling like idiots. We get up off the ground, Milo is absolutely beaming, but suddenly his expression changes completely.. he looks.. horrified. I've never seen him make a face like this before.
"M-Milo..!? What's wrong?"
I notice he's looking at something above my shoulder, I'm starting to get freaked out. As soon as I start to turn around to see what he's looking at, I'm roughly shoved across the floor, my body hits a small pile of wooden crates,
"M-Milo!?"
I look up to see a scorpion hunter plant, a very stealthy sentient man eating plant that kills through impaling it's prey, it only takes a week for it to mature so it must have been too small to see it before we left for barkanley, but before I could fully react, Milo is impaled by one in front of my eyes by the plant. I scream out for him and run to grab the machete, I sprint towards the plant and cut it's stem with a few hard chops using all my strength, the plant's head falls on to the ground. I drop to the ground next to Milo and hold him, he's bleeding out, struggling to breathe.
"H-Hold on I'm going to get help everything will be okay!!"
I shakily take out my phone and dial 911, I put it on speaker phone and put as much pressure as I can on Milo's wound to stop the bleeding. The police pick up.
"Please come quick my fiancé is bleeding to death PLEASE COME QUICK!!!" my eyes start filling with tears, as the realization hits me,
he's dying, he's bleeding out from his abdomen.
"Please calm down sir! what's your address?
"AKORN GREEN HOUSE ON 48 PINE ROAD PLEASE HURRY"
"Where is he bleeding out and how did it happen? Police are on their way!"
"A S-SCORPION PLANT!! HUNTER!"
I choke through my sobs, This isn't real this can't be real, his blood is pooling on the floor. Milo grips my shirt
"Z-Zach..!"
He chokes out.
"I-I'm here Milo! What is it?"
"I-I dont know if I'm going to make it.."
"DONT SAY THAT! PLEASE JUST HOLD ON A LITTLE LONGER HELP IS COMING!"
I cry out. Milo's grip weakens
"BABY PLEASE JUST A LITTLE LONGER!!"
"I.. I'm trying.. but I.."
His eyes start getting heavy.
"I love you, Zach.." he whispers as his arm falls off my shirt and his head goes limp in my arm.
"M-Milo..!?"
I shake him, Nothing.
"MILO ANSWER ME!!"
I shake him harder, Still nothing.
"PLEASE!!"
He's gone.
I hold him close and wail.
I've lost everything
Everything.
Absolutely Everything...
