I slowly open my eyes, this isn't my room..
Oh no..
I look over to find that celestial girl with the purple eyes.. what was her name again.. Octavia, right.. I quickly checked my body, I'm naked.
Oh no..
My head is pounding, I've never been this hungover in my life..I look at the room again, despite my hangover. there's a bunch of Falian runes, magic scripts on the wall, books on mythology, magic, and history of the elder dragons. mostly about the one that was sealed away. I guess she's really into our history huh? I turn away from her and close my eyes again. I hear her shuffling around next to me. She snuggles up against me, that's cute but this touch, this feeling, it reminds me too much of him.. he used to snuggle up to me like this in the morning..
I sit up and sit on the edge of the bed.
"Zachary?"
I don't respond.
"What's wrong?" She puts her hand on my back, I flinch
"Stop."
she quickly takes her hand off my back.
"Did I do something wrong? I'm so sorry I didn't mean for—"
"No, It's not you."
"Then what is it..?"
I pause for a moment
"my fiancé died about 9 months ago and your touch reminded me of him for a minute."
"'His'..? Are you gay..?! I'm so sorry you were so drunk I should have known better!!
I chuckle for a moment.
"No, I'm bi, I enjoyed last night, So don't worry, you were pretty drunk too."
I smile lazily at her.
"Ohhh.. I feel dumb for asking that now haha.." she giggles awkwardly at herself, but I see on her face what I said set in.
"How did Your fiancé die?"
"I really don't wanna talk about this right now I'm sorry, I'm super hungover right now and this is the last thing I wanna think about."
"Sure, would you like want some water?"
"I would like that a lot actually.. but what about you? Aren't you sick?"
"I don't get hung over very easily thankfully!" She says with a proud look on her face.
"Also, aside from water, what else would you like? what about food? I suck at cooking so is cereal okay?"
"I'll eat a little later, thank you anyway."
I say as I slip my underwear back on.
"So are you okay with what we did last night?"
"Oh, yeah I'm okay with that, what about you?"
"Yeah, I really liked it.."
She says with a blush dusting across her face.
"Me too.." I smile.
"Zachary? Do you think we could do this again? I mean not be together or anything!! I mean I just like what you did last night and I'd like to do that again."
"Like friends with benefits?"
She nods with a smile.
Do I really wanna do this? I mean, the physical Intimacy could be nice, and she's nice.
"Sure." I smile
She blushes slightly
"I look forward to it! Also hold on I gotta get something!" she goes to her bedside drawer and digs around her bedside drawers.
"What are you looking for?"
"You'll see~"
What could she possibly be getting?
"Here is is!"
She pulls out a small potion vial, it's filled with a pulpy dark green liquid.
"Ew.. what is that?"
"Hangover potion! An acquaintance at a Christmas party one year gave it to me, not knowing I rarely get hungover, so since you're super hungover I'll let you drink this."
"Gross.." I wince at vile looking liquid, but if it helps, I'll take it.
"Alright I'll drink it."
She smiles and hands it over.
"This is going to taste terrible, just a warning, also after a little while you're gonna throw up but you'll immediately feel better afterwards."
Yeesh..
"Alright, here I go."
I down the potion as quickly as I can, it tastes like extremely rotten vegetables.
I gag as I give her the empty vial.
"T-Thank you.." I say shakily.
"It's really no problem!" she smiles warmly.
We spend the next hour just getting to know each other, I asked about all the mythological and history stuff and just as I guessed, she's super into Fallian history. we exchange phone numbers and start talking about past experiences, favourite foods, our bullies in our old schools, stuff like that, just about life. After a while I did throw up, and like Lizzie said I felt better right away afterwards, well, besides the aching of my stomach. "Are you okay?" Octavia called from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, I actually feel a lot better!"
"That's great! so do you want me to drive you home soon?"
"Yeah, i'd like that actually."
I took a shower then got dressed, I couldn't find my socks so I just left them there. Lizzie drove me back to the house, I thanked her again and went inside.
"Hey, I'm home."
I call out, Resse comes over to meet me.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
"Well, this morning I was extremely hungover, but Liz gave me a hangover potion to help."
"Ah, that's nice of her!"
"Yeah it was.. I'm gonna just hang out down in my room for a while."
Resse nods.
I start making my way down to my room, but suddenly.
"Hey, Zach?"
"Yeah?"
She pauses for a moment.
"Do you think.. since you feel better maybe we can take a walk around the city again? Just us two this time?"
I honestly don't want to, but I don't want to let down Reese.
"Sure!" I smile.
"We'll leave in 20 minutes okay? I just gotta get dressed."
"Ok cool!"
Resse leaves to get ready, I'm too lazy to change my clothes so I'll just wear what I have on right now. I sit in the living room and lay down on the couch. What would he think of me now? he would probably be so disappointed in how far I've fallen.. I look around the clean expensive looking Japanese decora style living room. Candy definitely has an eye for weird fashion, although it kind of hurts my eyes, Resse broke up with her toxic boyfriend and she's living with candy until she can get her own apartment. he was such a dick. I think Milo hated him even more.. unsurprising for him, he could be so spiteful sometimes, but not once at me, my mind starts to wander to the time the four of us all went out to a cafe together.
