I burst through the light purple door to my bedroom. I instantly jumped on my bed and hid my face in the large, fluffy pillow, letting out a scream.

I don't think that I have ever been more stressed than this in my entire life. As I weep, I feel my eyelids becoming heavy, as I drift off to sleep.

"No! Melissa! I don't want to go! I want to stay with you!" Elizabeth screeched as her 'new family' tries to get her to come with them. "She is my big sister! Don't take me away from her!" She yelled once more, hitting at the two adults by her side. "Elizabeth! I will find you! It's going to be okay, I love you!" I yelled back, desperately trying not to cry for her sake. "I love y-" she was cut off by the door coming to a close, separating us from each other.

"AGGHHH" I cried, jumping out of my dream. I looked around the room, searching for Elizabeth, hoping that this was just another one of my dreams where I lose her.

That's when I realized that that was not just any dream.

It really happened.

If it was just a dream, we would both be in our old room. Whenever I would have a dream about something happening to Elizabeth, I would get out of bed and hug her. I would explain to her how I promise that everything would be okay once I graduated, because then I could take custody of her, and we could lead a normal lifestyle.

But my promise has been tragically broken, because I don't think that anything will be okay for a long time.
