Elizabeth’s Point of View

“Bo, this is Melissa. My big sister.” I stated, a smile spreading from ear to ear. “Your big sister? I thought….” Bo asked, a puzzling look on her face. I’m sure she wasn’t expecting to pick up two Frost girls from the meeting!

“She comes to this support group! I can’t believe she is actually here!” I choked, becoming teary eyed all over again. I smiled as Melissa reached over and grabbed my hand. I remember when she used to hold my hand, and her hand was always so much bigger than mine, that it almost completely covered it. Well, not anymore.

Bo eyed Melissa suspiciously, obviously thrown off by her appearance. I gave her a big smile, letting her know that I couldn’t be any happier than I was right now. “Thats wonderful!” Bo exclaimed, finally accepting that this was a good thing. “Get in the car you two, we’re going home!”

Melissa’s Point of View

Home. There’s a word that I haven’t used in awhile. As much as I appreciate Bo taking me in, I don’t plan on staying long. I’m going to get a job and an apartment, and then Elizabeth and I can be on our own again, at last.

I was swiftly pulled out of my daydream as my phone began ringing. I glared down at the name that appeared on the caller ID. “Hello.” I mumbled, answering my phone. “Melissa? I have been waiting outside the building for almost half an hour. Where are you?” Rebecca questioned. “I’m not coming back.” I said calmly. “Wait, what? Melissa, don’t be silly! What’s going on?” Rebecca rushed. I could hear her starting to cry. “You want me out, right? You have been saying that for months! Go to college! Get a job! Get a life! Well, that’s exactly what I’m doing.” I finished. “Can you at least come say goodb-”

I cut her off by hanging up the phone. I look up to find Elizabeth staring at me from the front seat of the car. I simply smiled, rolled down the window, and threw my phone out. Goodbye, Rebecca.
