Ivory's pov I woke up to the sun shining bright. I stretched and walked by a mirror only to stop and realize I now looked 14, it was getting close to my first birthday and I was growing older by the minute. I quickly put on an outfit and went to find mom and dad.

Mom and dad were waiting in the living room with Benjamin, Tia, Senna, Zafrina, Vladimir, Stefan and Alistair. "Mija come and meet your god parents." Mom waved me over. I walked over and smiled we all talked for a while and I told them about some of the stuff I liked. Surprisingly even though Alistair wasn't a 'people person' he seemed to like me. I enjoyed their company.
Time skip
"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try and take me out first, because I can anticipate their moves." Edward explained. Garrett looked at me with a smirk "Too bad we don’t all have your shield." He nudged me I simply shrugged. "Doesn't help me fight though, does it?" I gave a sarcastic response. "No, but it could help the rest of us if you could project it." Auntie Tanya suggested. "What do you mean?" I was confused. "I mean shield someone other than yourself." She explained. I looked at mom. "Is that even possible?" I asked. "Gifts can be developed, over time." Dr. Cullen confirmed. "At first mine was just in my palms, now I can radiate it all over my body." Auntie Kate looked at me. "Want to learn?" I nodded.
Time skip
We were outside with aunt Kate trying to teach me how to project a shield. "You need to visualize it. See how it moves, what color it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you." She walked me through it. I willed it to expand, like the other day when I willed it to go away I focused and I felt it flow freely for about two seconds, turns out trying to expand a shield is harder than making it go away. Alistair was watching and saw the split second victory. "She almost had it." He encouraged. "I think she needs something to motivate her." Kate looked at mom. Benjamin stepped forward. "No!" I tried to reason. "It’s alright, I can take it." He assured me. "He says that now." Uncle Garrett smirked. Ben got ready to grasp Kate's hand. "Wait Ben, I'm not ready to do this." Too late. Ben fell to the ground. "Ivory." He gasped. "I’m sorry! I said that I wasn’t ready!" I reasoned. "You aren't motivating her." Vladimir chuckled. "You wanna try?!" Ben snapped and Vladimir backed away. I willed it again, but it didn't work as Ben fell to thed ground in pain. "Aunt Kate!" I exclaimed. "You seem to lack incentive. Shall I go and see if Seth's awake?" She taunted. "Are you insane aunt Kate?" She gave me a look. "Alright. This one’s on full power." I willed the shield to go beyond me, to protect the ones I cared about. "It’s painful, but it’s bearable." Benjamin smiled at me. I returned it. "Okay, we should go again." I smirked. "Vladimir?" Benjamin gave a wicked grin to the Romanian vamp. He shook his head.
Time skip
"You did great mija." Mom exclaimed with glee. "Thanks mom." I smiled. I felt exhausted from the training but it was worth it. "By the way, sorry Ben." I gave a slight chuckle. Bella and Jacob had taken Renesmee to see Charlie so I had one less reason to be jumpy. I trailed my fingers along the white keys of the piano and smiled softly. "Do you play?" Tia inquired. I nodded. "Whenever I was alone I read books of music and instruments from around the world, anytime I could I would study the techniques, and notes, I learned how to play three instruments in that time. Piano, violin and guitar." I told her. Pressing one of the keys. "Will you play, please mija?" Mom begged. I looked at Dr. Cullen for permission, after all it was his house. He shrugged, out of my biological family Esme and Carlisle didn't hate me, they were just indifferent to me. I sat down and placed my fingers on the shining keys. I took a deep breath and played one of my favorite songs.
